Climber Platform and Tree Saddle Combo

I always have the stand tethered to me to avoid this scenario, because it can easily happen.

Climber Platform and Tree Saddle Combo

haha!! I have modded a Summit Viper platform before I bought the open shot. However, it 100% destroys the structural integrity of the stand, and uses backwoods engineering with grade 8 bolts keeping it all together. I weigh 250 pounds and carry at least 25 pounds of gear with me and it has never...

Climber Platform and Tree Saddle Combo

Different strokes for different folks. What works for some may not work for others. I'm always adjusting things and fine-tuning my load out. The bulk of a full-size viper platform may be bulky and not efficient for some, but practical for others for their given situation. My open shot...

Climber Platform and Tree Saddle Combo

Thanks!! There is room for another cross member where my heels are, which will most likely add quite a bit more foot room.

Climber Platform and Tree Saddle Combo

I've been using my slightly modded summit open shot hand climber for my platform/climbing method going on my third season now. I absolutely love it for where I hunt, and I wouldn't do it any other way. It weighs a few ounces over 5 pounds. I also cut up and used the XOP TTS, so I wear it with...

And now for something completely? Different...

No doubt. I'm just calling them out for being dumb enough to post a video making fun of saddle hunters, then a year later, making and selling saddle products. Great marketing strategy. "Hunt out of a beast stand, Don't wee-wee on your boots" (D. Infalt, 2021)

And now for something completely? Different...

Interesting! They go from making videos of saddle hunters urinating on their feet while on the stand to making a product to sell to saddle hunters.

    Summit open Shot

Welcome to the club! This will be my second season using my modded Open shot. I absolutely love it!! It weighs in at a few ounces over 5 pounds. My only suggestion is to file the teeth that bite the tree sharper so it bites better. It makes it more stable. I hunt hill country so I don't need to...

Where did you get the aider from?

One sticking with a Lonewolf stick

eesh....As I was watching the DIY one stick video, I forgot I could set my tether as high as I could reach, and use my prussik on my tether to lower back down while stepping down a bit..:flushed::flushed::flushed: I'd still like to know the optimal length for a stick to be for one sticking though!

One sticking with a Lonewolf stick

My current climbing method/platform is pretty slick and I have gotten quite used to using it. My current setup: Modded Summit Viper climbing platform. I hunt the northeast, so straight trees are the norm. My platform weighs around 9 pounds, but it is the climbing method as well. The weight is...

Is this when a ropeman would come in handy?

WOW!! What a difference!! I zoomed right up the tree in under 5 minutes! Once I was at hunting height, I threw in a small knot about 6" below the ropeman in case it slipped. I also attached a 12" piece of muddy lineman rope on the girth hitch eye loop to my carabiner for redundancy. I love it!!
