How did you cook venison today?

Salisbury venison beef balls. Mixed local grass fed , no hormones or antibiotics beef with deer for this recipe. Wife made the sauce and pasta.

    Hunting while working night shift.

“Blessing in disguise” I was thinking the same thing a few nights ago. I have a WMA halfway between work and home, actually about 10 minutes from my house that I pass every day. That’s where I’ll be heading today / tomorrow morning after work to get it some more scouting. And yes I’m married but...

    Hunting while working night shift.

A couple days ago I did a dry run, intended to scout my lease after work but when I got there decided to forego it as I was wearing shorts, eh, not going into the woods in shorts. But I stayed up there talking to the land owner a couple hours before driving home. Needless to say when I finally...

    Hunting while working night shift.

Ye I’ve had those swing shifts and hated them, had 10 days of each shift , like you said I was perpetually tired as just when my body got used to the hours they would change again.

    Hunting while working night shift.

You bring up a great point about tracking a deer into the night, I hadn’t considered that. That changes things. I’m 52 but am pretty much a night owl, I’m good up until I get in the bed but while I’m out and about I just keep going. Truthfully I’ll probably fall asleep in the jx3 I’m using this...

    Hunting while working night shift.

Thanks for the insight, I do like the idea of sleeping mornings and hunting evenings. I hunt both public and private so I’m really excited about getting to my spot maybe Thursday and Friday mornings when most ppl are at work as well.

    Hunting while working night shift.

Hey guys, I’ve recently taken a night shift position 8:00pm-6:00am sun-wed and I’m worried my hunts will be all out of whack. Wondering if anyone here has worked graveyard shifts and how you worked out your hunting schedule. I’m thinking along the lines of going straight after work hunt a few...

I apparently can't take my doggies scouting anymore

A couple years ago I had 2 chihuahuas in a pen in the front yard hanging out while I was building a trap. Ofc they’re always barking and yelling bc they want out. I look over and see a coyote beelining towards the pen they were in, he sees me and darts off into the woods. Insane, middle of the...

    Hawk ROS strap replacement question

Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before. I somehow managed to lose the original cam buckle to the helium tree steps and am looking for a better solution such as a ratchet style strap. I could never get the OEM strap tight enough so the steps wouldn’t kick out or wiggle so I added a...

    Hawk helium ROS question

While testing a new set of helium steps I discovered that they kick out easily and I can’t get them tight enough to keep some from pulling from the tree. Not sure if this is due to the tree I’m climbing or the gear itself. I even tried with a ratchet and still did the same thing. I added a...

    New from Georgia

I’m in Madison co. In the city of Danielsville so we’re not too far from each other. I’ll definitely check out the page you suggested that sounds great. I’m definitely down to learn what different systems of climbing everyone is running and how I can get the best out of mine. Thanks brother.

    New from Georgia

I just want to thank all you guys for the warm welcome, it’s awesome to hear from hunters from all over the country. You guys from up north should come hunt Georgia some time especially when it gets super cold up there and we’re running around in shorts and tshirts.
