    Outfitter Question

Sorry for the delay...I've been away. Let me start by saying this: I've never used an outfitter before and didn't know what to expect, nor what questions to ask. So - I'm sure most of the frustration I felt is squarely on me. When we got to the outfitter's lodge, there were probably 10 or 12...

    Outfitter Question

When you book with an outfitter (if you use an outfitter/guide)...what should be the minimum you expect from that outfitter or guide? I've never used one before until this year. Just curious about what makes a good one or not as I have no basis for comparison. I'll detail my experience once...

    Rappelling Question

No - I get that. I’m dead tired and probably didn’t word that question very well. What determines which side of the tree you’re going to naturally rappel? Somehow, I start going down one side and for whatever reason that I can’t figure out - I’ll end up somewhere else.

    Rappelling Question

In the act of rappelling down a tree, I’m swinging all over the place - I feel like I’m constantly fighting the natural decline. In other words, if I have my sticks on one side of the tree, for whatever reason, when I start rappelling, I’m always on the wrong side - typically on the opposite...

    Illinois hunters

Yep - that's what the regs are in reference to. Just spoke to a Cons. Officer in IL. He said he recommends lighted nocks.

    Illinois hunters

I've never hunted IL before and will be going at the end of October. When reading the bow regs, I ran across a snippet that says electronic tracking devices on arrows are illegal. Is that in reference to lighted nocks? Or is there some other electronic tracking device for arrows I'm not...

    50% off Sitka Stratus Jacket

I’m almost ashamed of the money I spent on stuff I “needed” this year. I’m looking at you Bowtech and Cruzr.com and now Sitka. ‍♂️

Thank you for the update...i'm looking for a saddle for my son. He has a Hawk - figured out this weekend he didn't like it.

I would be interested in the saddle if you still have that.

    Saddle hunting boots

I bought a pair of Schnee's (non-insulated) last year for my son's East KY elk hunt. I've also got the Alpha Burly boots. Based on the price alone... I'd hate to think that I couldn't use my Schnee's anymore. They were a great fit right out of the box and I didn't have time to break them in...

    Lord have mercy on me!

Thanks for all the info…I’m truly glad to have found this community. Ok - changing topic slightly. What boots do y’all prefer - rubber boots or boots. I’ve got a pair of Schnee’s I bought last year for my son’s elk hunt. I’d like to use them if possible because I feel like I don’t have full...

    Saddle kits (new guy)

i bought the Cruzr super kit...i know there's pieces in there that I'm going to replace, but, you have to start somewhere. The only thing non-Cruzr I bought was the steps.

    Lord have mercy on me!

Makes perfect sense. Thanks! I’m leaning towards just the one rope - see how that goes. I went ahead and got 30 ft. of C-IV rope with that idea in mind.
