I've never hunted IL before and will be going at the end of October. When reading the bow regs, I ran across a snippet that says electronic tracking devices on arrows are illegal. Is that in reference to lighted nocks? Or is there some other electronic tracking device for arrows I'm not familiar with? Which is entirely possible.

Yep - that's what the regs are in reference to. Just spoke to a Cons. Officer in IL. He said he recommends lighted nocks.
