Has anyone attempted to make something similar to the Dryad Drey hammock saddle?

I love the concept, but I'm a DIY'er at heart and I just can't see it being too difficult to build one, especially for those of us that already have saddle building experience. Anyone made something similar?

I think I need to adjust my tactics... suggestions wanted.

I hunted this same area last year and saw several buck cruising that strip of timber from south to north, keeping the wind in their favor. Like I said, pretty sure the bucks are bedded either in the swamp or around the pond area.

CRP field was 4-5 feet tall a couple years ago and I bushwhacked across it once to go directly north of my parking spot, but it hasn't been bush-hogged at all since then and it's 7-10 feet high in most places now. I may try the bump & dump. Might still be in velvet on the15th too.

Here's my 5 year old style drawing for reference. The red dot is where that camera is located. Yellow line from the pin is where I park and my route to the area. Forgot to mention there's also a huge corn field on the property that DNR plants every year. Wind is almost always west/southwest, but...

I think I need to adjust my tactics... suggestions wanted.

Tons of trails everywhere leading in and out of this area. There's a big swamp bottom nearby, a huge CRP field that's 6-10 feet high in most places that is full of doe bedding. The area I'm hunting is a long skinny stretch of mixed hardwoods and old growth pine between the swamp and CRP field...

Here's the video that I have of him from this year. Also, these two videos were taken about 100 yards apart.

Good view of the buck on a scrape from last year

I think I need to adjust my tactics... suggestions wanted.

For the first time, I have a bonafide target buck. For South Carolina public land, he's a giant. It's a deer I had on camera several times last year for pretty much the entire season, even through the rut, and now he's shown himself again this year. I guess my question is for those that like to...

    Gecko spur mods

Any suggestions on what to use instead? All I have is anecdotal with those t-hooks. I used them on my saddle and my last set of spurs all last season. Never had an issue. They sell 1” cobra buckles, but $20 each is a hard pill to swallow.

    Gecko spur mods

I completely lucked into a set of barely used Gecko Aluminum 2.0 spurs for $150 shipped on a used arborist gear group on FB. Although extremely light and functional, these spurs were covered in velcro and metal parts that were extremely loud. Just wanted to share my before/after pics of the mods...

    Roll Up Rope Pouch Clone

I'm planning on making several after the New Year. I'd make them sooner, but I'm leaving town this week to visit family. I'll have my materials order in after the first of the year and should have some ready pretty shortly afterwards.

    Roll Up Rope Pouch Clone

Asking your opinion, do you think coyote tan would be a pretty universally accepted color for something like this? It's just way easier to not offer color selections. I've noticed a lot of commercially available saddles and accessories are in that coyote color.

    Roll Up Rope Pouch Clone

Yep, all of this. I've seriously considered making 10-20 of them to sell, but I really don't see how I could make it worth my while without charging an arm and a leg, especially during deer season. I wouldn't pay the price I'd have to charge which is why I made my own in the first place

    prussic KN?

Not my picture, but something I’ve started doing for quick and cheap insurance is tying a figure 8 on a bight into the tag end of my tether and clipping that into my carabiner with my prusik. Basically the same as this picture, but with a prusik instead of a ropeman. No extra equipment needed...
