    I doubt it's threaded. Mostly likely the threaded end of the bolt wore into the thru-hole on that side of the post. Don't know why they put such a giant chamfer on the holes through that post. That gives less material to support the bolt and thus will wear out much quicker. I know how I...

    The material is called Onyx. The surface finish is very smooth but I haven't used them enough to see if there may be any long term use damage. I don't anticipate any wear issues.

    I 3D printed mine. It works fantastic! Made for my Shikars with a carbon fiber filled nylon material.

    I use a heavy zip tie over a piece of tubular webbing instead of the castration bands for locking the loops over my boots. Has worked well over all different kinds of boots. I even tried climbing with my Arctic Shields on over my hiking boots and they stayed put.
