    Name your setup for 2024

I am going exclusively JX3 Hybrid this year as well. I love the saddle. The only thing that has held me back are sticks. I hate climbing with sticks, even though I think John makes some of the best sticks in the business. I am using the JX3 top stick to one stick climb with. The thing that...

"Mobile" Treestand - What is everyone using right now, and why?

I am using a JX3 Hybrid and A summit viper. This year, I am focusing on comfort since I hunt so much to make everything more enjoyable.

    JX3 Practice

I’ve been out in the yard practicing with all my saddles. However, I’m mainly focusing on the JX3 Hybrid. I actually bought a Matthews switchback XT and turned it down to 54 pounds to help with any weak side shot when it’s cold. I didn’t hunt out of the JX3 as much last year and I think it cost...

I’m also like my climbing stands. I use a summit Viper and a Lone Wolf hand climber and sit and climb. 90% of the places I end up I am in a climber tree anyway. I also have a Lone Wolf Alpha and a Novix Helo For saddles I have a Cruzr XC, Dryad Drey, and a JX3 Hybrid My bows are a Mathews...

    Most comfortable saddle for one-sticking

The JX3 is the most comfortable while doing anything. The fork goes into the tree and you are sitting completely comfortable while moving the stick.

I bought a subscription to everyone of the GPS hunting apps on the market this year. In my area, ONX updates the quickest. Our neighbors moved in six months ago and ONX is the only one that has the updated property information.

    I love the saddle, but...

I had the same problem as you and quit saddle hunting for a while. Then I remembered back in the early 2000s when I originally started, I was more comfortable. After thinking about it, I was using a ring of steps at the time. To me if you have any pain a ring of steps is the best way to saddle...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

I will sit on both sides depending on what they need is. If I sit on the high side I have two steps on a strap. I will set the steps 2 to 3 inches higher than the top of my stick on the high side. That way when you go around you have leverage so it doesn’t throw you down as bad. Still not...

    Leaning Tree Set Up

This is where the JX3 Hybrid works very well. You climb up and sit down with the weight on the fork. You can still sit in comfort in those trees.
