    I think I’m done rappelling - Rant/Question

I think you have just come to the honest realization that most of the things driving saddle hunting now are gear driven and not simplistic get it done techniques. Coming down your sticks is way quieter and faster than carrying a rope to do the same thing. You still have to pack your sticks...

    Single bevel broadheads

Havent shot trad in probably 20 years but anything with a glue in ferrule. Zwicky, magnus, I think there was another. Im sure they were fine in the 70's but c'mon man. They held an edge but so does metal band if you get it sharp. No durability at all ime. I had to tell a buddy of mine I...

    Single bevel broadheads

Dude some of those heads are straight trash. I liked wood arras though when I was shooting the stick

Most deer harvested in one day?

Lost track of doubles and triples. You can kill the whole group, get some out of a couple groups. Shoot the biggest one first the others arent far behind. If your spot aint loaded your better off leaving the matriarch doe and shooting her yearling or fawns ime. Unless its 90 degrees and they...

    Single bevel broadheads

Anything with a glue in ferrule is junk. From hear forward Im speaking about deer alone. 2 blades regardless of single or double are notorious for sporadic trails. It was the main reason the 3 blade conical style head came to popularity back in the 70's. Day in day out you will get the best...

Why do you not kill the deer you are after?

#1 Its way harder to do than one thinks #2 I will not pass a 150ish buck

Ordered a sitdrag but no customer service problems?

I hunted out of one for 5 seasons. Had I not got a smoking deal on a 2 panel Id still be hunting out of one.

    Spotting scopes

Us Easterners just dont get that good glass aint cheap and cheap glass aint good. If you spend any amount of time behind cheap glass you will get a headache plain and simple. I love my Vortex 10x42 for deer. Wont hit the woods without them. Spend 2 hours with them glued to your eyeballs and...

    John Eberhart Scentlok Suit

Whether you believe it works or not the jackets are almost useless since they dont have an elastic bottom and a hood. You are a human scented wind checker that is constantly being squeezed.

Ground hogs in trees? Totally bizarre

They will flat climb a tree. They will also get up an oak and shake the branches and get the acorns to fall.

    School me on trapping

Hearing and doing. Two different things. Made plenty of house payments off dead coons.

    School me on trapping

I am 100% certain a lot of the things that trappers were told to do in the past was to keep them tinkering instead of trapping. Also Trapperman blows. Pick a guy that his style is something you can relate to and roll with his videos or books. Its all making the animal step on the trap...

Considering only going up 15-17 ft instead of usual 20+, any real benefits or might as well stay on ground?

Just making your angle steeper by going higher. Don't set up in the direct travel path and height is almost irrelevant if you move when you should a pay attention.

    .17 HMR

The HMR is like shooting a laser! If you can see it you can head shoot it. If your blowing up squirrels your shot selection is poor.
