    Sub 1lb CF/Au stick

Nah, other than ending up with a great low weight carbon 1-stick. I've landed on 2TC for my main climb method. I've ditched SRT getting too frustrated tangling my throw line. I'm still tempted to make a 4 stick set of the carbons...

    Rope mod for platforms

I'm running a DIY clone of the USA Pro rope mod and it is both easy to setup and rock solid. I was using a daisy chain prior, but I never liked how you had to be a little loose before pushing the post down and camming the platform over. USA Pro rope mod on Etsy

    Quick Link Options?

The Beal cord itself is 15kN rated. In my case I'm actually using it for an eye to eye Distel hitch (not prusik) for foot loops on a 2TC system. Some trees here get skinny quickly and I need to be able to adjust the foot loop height on the fly. Distel is much easier to adjust than Prusik.

    Quick Link Options?

Yes, broke at 1382 lbs. X axis is time. The ends were pulled apart slowly and as all slack was taken up (time 11 seconds) the force began increasing. Kept increasing until the stitches gave way. Y axis shows force in lbs. Distance is not plotted. I had predicted 1200 lbs strength with 40...

Eye Splice solution for Fixed Amsteel Bridge

Non-Scientific test results follow..... I made a rope with a proper Brummel lock eye splice on one end, and a knotted Brummel on the other. Then connected the eyes to my and my neighbor's truck hitches. Then slowly drove off. It tightened up and the whole rope held enough for me...

Eye Splice solution for Fixed Amsteel Bridge

I haven't posted since the season, so hello again! So I needed to shorten a wakeboard tow rope and saw how they created the eye splice in the end. It is a locked Brummel style, but the second lock is on the outside of the hollow braid. This splice can be tied to a fixed saddle bridge loop...

    Another climbing stick rope mod

Did you try puting your weight on the step? Bounce on it? I tried this method with 8mm rope and 6mm prussik. The prussik would lock up so tight that it was a pain to get the rope loose enough to remove the step. I now just wrap the 8mm around the button and have a V notch on the back of the...

    Need Correct Machine Screws

Why do you need the unthreaded portion? Won't it work all the same with full threads? If so, then McMaster has 20 options for M5x60 screws including grade 12.9 which is approx same as SAE grade 8.
