    Ditching sticks

I'm 40 and have been fishing since I was knee high to a duck and I STILL use knot reference cards.... it's like a dyslexia or something for me. I have worked on the tying technique so many times. It's not for lack of effort I assure you.

    Amsteel whoopi slings question

That looks like a tether, not a USA...what am I not seeing there? I replaced my tether, bridge and linesman with Hang Free options before this season. I like the linesman, decided to use the tether as a backup and did not like the adjustable bridge at all. Waaaaaay to long so I removed the...

    Ditching sticks

I cannot for the life of me remember how to tie these damn things on. I've had them 4 years and I'll get the first 3 on just fine and then I get all flustered when one of them won't cantilever properly and then forget how to tie them on proper and struggle the rest of the way up. This year I...

    Amsteel whoopi slings question

I had seen this U.S.A style but attachment methods can get real complicated. I like the WS a lot and was wondering if I was doing something wrong. I climb so many different sized trees that I'm thinking the next set I buy will be daisy chains for easier setup. Video link posted above but I do...

    Amsteel whoopi slings question

I switched to whoopi slings before last year and most of the time I end up fighting them a little to get snug. When I have the sling around the tree and both ends attached to the versa button I pull the tag end to tighten but nothing happens. Typically I end up pushing the tag end to tighten...

    lightest gambrel system

You're being obtuse. You might need a snack...sure there's no need to hang an animal for breaking down, but there are plenty of situations where needing to move something comes up. Nice chattin with you though!

You ever had an animal roll into a ditch and only yourself to get it up and out?

    Rope retrieval/bow tow suggestions?

I use at Nitize camjam aluminum rope tightener as they call it, and the rope is from Hawk. It's flat which I like a lot for ease of gripping instead of paracord. For hauling up, I clip onto the gear hanger rope that's secured to the tree, then I start hauling up and wrapping figure 8 style to...

    Game changer...

yep. I could never spend the money on one of those but I made one and use it half the time. I connected the ends of mine with a continuous loop and then that goes into the carabiner that's affixed to my bridge/tether. The strap had it's own length adjustments so I only had to connect the ends.

Can someone 3d print an ‘aider-keeper’?

You leave your aiders attached at all times or you have an aider you move from step to step? The cleat thing wouldn't be very elegant since it would add bulk in my opinion. I for one spent an afternoon figuring out different ways to wrap my different ropes around my steps in case I needed to...

    "New Age" traditional/colonial tradecraft

don't waste your time. will not get hot enough or hold heat long enough to be effective for anything. scrap yard for a larger piece of pipe is what we did. soup can is a waste of time.

    retractable bow hoist suggestions?

No offense but this thing is worthless. the line is like dental floss and impossible to grip. I thought I was going to lose a finger trying to haul up my gear or lowering it down with this floss line. DO NOT BUY THIS
