    Feet Warm? What warmers?

    I use masking tape to tape hot hands to the top of my socks before I put my uninsulated rubber boots on. It makes my feet sweat on the walk in but I guess because the hand warmers have such solid contact with my feet I don't get cold after.

    I use 8 steps alone without any aiders or anything and feel I'm plenty high, that's with a perch on the 8th. That said, I plan to get a knaider/swaider to reduce the number of steps I carry because they are somewhat hefty

    I got my pursuit pack in, could not be happier! It's super light and with the exterior straps I'm able to carry my perch underneath and WEI stepps strapped to the back. Next hunt I'll get to my tree, take my stepps off the pack and put my bow in their place so I can ditch my haul line.

    Why carry so much crap?

    I recently picked up the big vortex bino harness and it's let me strip down to carrying only what fits in my pockets and the harness for short hunts. The only things I miss are carrying water and the ability to shed layers.

    Honestly I felt more stupid than anything.. It was like a momentary out of body experience where I could just picture myself bear hugging this tree as I slid down. I caught and stopped and I just thought "ok.. what now?"

    Attempting a diy platform

    Just out of interest, how many hours have the non-pro welders here put in before feeling confident to fab platforms and stuff? I've been looking at getting a mig machine to learn on, but between hobbies I'm not sure I have the time to devote 100 hours to learning on scrap.

    Thanks guys! I would not have thought about checking a lot of the areas listed, or looking for fall ratings.. Going to have to do some digging on my ropes' and biners' ratings now.
