Another thing I did today. Pulled some Canyon Elite back that was out in the woods. Probably due to its smaller diameter, but it doesn't like "long term" knots. This section was in an Alpine. The side that's slightly glazed was against the tree.
The good news is it's still pretty strong. I know because I gutted the core and test hung on the mantle only (1' off the ground). Obviously I would never trust my life to just the mantle.
