    Bullman Platform Steps

I purchased 6 Bullman steps, however, I use them (4 steps) in conjunction with my platform. I tried them alone on a few hunts and decided I still liked my platform for extended hunts. They lock to the tree very tight and are very stable once set.

Great year end deals to be had

I decided to lighten the load and purchase a Battlement platform from WEI. Some great deals to be had while the inventory is plentiful. Going into to next bow season I'll be better prepared.

How old is the bow (how many seasons has it been hunted with)?

    I think I’m done rappelling - Rant/Question

I use 35 feet of 8mm Oplux with a OHM tender. My rappel rope serves as my tree tether and I can use it as a retrival rope, however, my Doyle gear hoist is normally all I use to pull my weapon of choice up. I use the WEI steps. I rappel with a double looped figure 8 and a back-up friction hitch...

    bridge - Rope vs Amsteel

Ok guys; Like many of you I’m always experimenting with techniques and various equipment. Rather than giving up on Amstel I purchased a second rope from The Amstel Guy. I purchased the USA pro with the two schwabisich hitches. This was for the purpose of securing my platform to the tree. It...

    Tree Spurs

I just purchased a set of aluminum Stein. Very well made, great padding and got them on sale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Question on switching to ring of steps

One thing I will add is my Trophy line is heavy and not easily packable. That’s probably going to be my next upgrade. The second is a better back pack similar to Greg’s or one of Greg’s Stagg packs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    bridge - Rope vs Amsteel

Van the co-owner of Hang Free told me I needed to roll the amsteel in my fingers before trying to adjust. Hanging from a tree hoping to do adjustments with one hand and now I’ve got to roll it. My conclusion is that I will tolerate the heavier rope and a better friction knot that I can tend with...

    Bridge Spreader

Whats the take on these devices that's spreading the bridge to reduce the hip pinch. Likes/Dislikes. My only saddle experience is with the Aero Hunter Kestrel and Merlin. I recently purchased a TX 5 CG Lone Star 2.0 and it incorporates a hip pinch reduction system designed into the saddle. It's...

    bridge - Rope vs Amsteel

I've discovered the same thing. I switched to an amstel tree tether that came with a prussic hitch. I found it extremely difficult to adjust once weight has been applied. I tried a distal hitch and had basically the same result. I'm also learning after trial and error that the larger diameter...

    Hoyt now line-up

Definitely understand the tight budget. I agree with the 2023 “deals to be had”. It seems every thing has risen astronomically in our economy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New product instructional videos

I’m hoping some of these guys producing these amazing products and ideas would put up more step by step instructional videos for us less talented. The Rappel systems would be a good place to start. Beyond the basic figure 8 where a Ropeman or Kong Duck is used in tandem.

Whats up with the 'Sladder Climbing system"?

I have every climbing method known to saddle hunters and arborists alike. My range of equipment extends from screw in spikes from 35 years ago to the Sladder and everything in between. I can climb with them all, some just more efficiently and lighter than others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

"The official saddle hunting backpack thread"

I purchased the Scent Lok pack from Sportsmans Guide. It has been a disappointment. The zipper pullls have already broken in a matter of a month and the straps for securing gear are basically useless. I wished I had spent the extra money and went with Greg Stagg’s pack or something equivalent...

    Wild edge stepp lovers

Is there a You Tuber who has content using the knaider with the WEI steps? I have both the knaider and the swaider and I love my WEI steps. Been using them since '20.

    ironwood tree episode

Out today in a swampy bluff area. Not a good selection of trees to climb. I choose what I believe was an ironwood tree. Cammed my WEI step at chin high, placed my swaider on my left leg and my knaider on my right. I began to ascend the tree swaider first. Got to about the third step and suddenly...

    Suspenders

I guess it depends on how peculiar you are. I like my gear to not only perform flawlessly but like it to look good as well. I don’t like to DIY to make it work.

Distel hitch tied with a 1/8” technora

Has any one experienced issues with the Distel hitch tied with a 1/8” technora being very difficult to slide on the 8 mm rope once weight has been applied? I purchased the Rope accessory kit from TX 5 and this is the set up that they use. The reviews on their web page were very positive. My...
