The everyman's guide to killing a deer with a compound bow...

Truth, a person can read up on the latest/greatest equipment on forums all day being convinced its necessary, then lose out on the big details due to not getting familiarized with their own setup before a hunt.

No college football= more hunting pressure?

To top it off, what percentage is willing to have multiple uneventful sits and try to conquer the learning curve involved? If it does affect pressure, im hoping its like the gym on new years (empties out after 1-2 weeks).

How can I contribute as a new hunter in a group hunt?

    One-Stick Efficiency.

Did you end up trying any of this out yet? I saw this post early on, but 2-3 extra lbs for the 2 extra sticks properly packed on a backpack wasnt noticeable and was completely worth it for the simplicity of it all.

    Hip pinch

Bridge length was the game changer for me. When i find a good adjustment length, then make tether length where you need it.

Quick question about using this as accessory cord?

I agree with Newhunter1, buy a rope designed specifically for the purpose intended. Lineman/tether is not something to make out of what is laying around.

    First saddle

I met with a local member from this site to check his setup (tried it out to make sure i would like it), then built a very similar setup with small tweaks here and there.

    First saddle

If lines and connecting devices have proper ratings, you are most likely safe. I would still look how others have made their setups or have an experienced person check your setup to be safe. And be comfortable/well versed before entering the woods!
