    Gri Gri plus

I just got the gri gri plus a week or so ago. I’ve only played with it once and my only complaint is I feel it’s a little loud getting set up as it kinda rattles around. Otherwise no complaints with its function.

    Birdie vs Grigi vs Safeguard

I'm looking to make some changes to my setup and would like to be able to test them during the late season here. So I'm looking to get one of these devices and replace my short tether with my rappel rope. It would appear that the Safeguard is the more popular option, why is that? Also does...

    Climbing Gear sale on Backcountry.com

180lbs? What kind of rope are you using? Yarn? Clothesline? Please do more research before you are the guy on the news who fell out of a tree.

Anybody install a cam cleat on their platform? Update-Installed.

Any chance you can do a video of you climbing with it?

    For those 2 panel-ers

Primarily a leaner. I’d say 70/30 spilt. You are correct in not a lot of support. I don’t have a problem with that but others may.

    For those 2 panel-ers

I spent 4 hours in the floating d model this morning. Not to bad really. The downsides are it’s not packable at all because of how stiff it is. I wore it in and out about half mile each way and no issues without it falling down just little bulky. The floating d ring has to either be taped or...

And now for something completely different:

On a whim, I bought those several years ago. Never used them though. They’ve just been sitting in the shed collecting dust. Maybe one day I’ll give them a good test. edit: looking closer, what I have is different model but same concept

    Best non-mechanical belay/rappel device for 8mm rope

I use a ATC with a Beal jammy. Curious why you don’t want a mechanical?

Can I use 1'' aluminum tube from home depot?

If it’s the one I’m seeing online, it’s 1/20 of an inch thick. Much too thin. Guys on here have issues with 1/16” bending. You also need to do some research on aluminum grades. Don’t cheap out here. It is your health and well being on the line.

    Lone Wolf Hand Climber cracked

Kinda shady since you aren’t using it for it’s designed purpose. But whatever floats your boat.

    H2 to Recon

I just pulled the trigger on a Recon. Anyone want a H2 with triad bridge? :sunglasses:

    Rechargeable hand warmer

I can’t stand wearing gloves so I recently picked up a electric hand muff. It works better than expected. Only downside is it’s a little bulky to carry in and out. Minor inconvenience.

    H2 to Recon

I’m just not in love with it. So if I end up not loving the Recon, I’ll sell it too and move on to another. I typically don’t sell gear even if I don’t use it much but I blew the hunting budget this year and want the money to fund the Recon.

    H2 to Recon

I’ve decided I’m going to sell my H2 saddle and pick up a Recon. I’d like to try the belt style as I’m mostly a leaner. I also like how minimalistic it is. Anyone make the move and regret it? Any other belt style saddles out there I should consider?

    Knee pad alternative

Not sure if anything like this has been mentioned before but this is what I use in place of knee pads. They are comfy, relatively cheap and light weight. The pads are about $10 each. Kind of expensive for a small piece of foam but the quality is decent. I hang them in the tree with some paracord...

    Gonex static rope

I bought some of that for the rope mod on my sticks with a cam cleat. So far, so good!

    Adding cam cleats to Sticks

I bought 3 of the Schaefer’s from amazon as well and got one installed on my primary one stick. After several test climbs I’ve seen no problems so far. I’ll get a pic put up later.
