    Windproof glasses

Does anyone know where to get prescription goggles or something for hunting? I spend a lot of time in the late season in the cold wind and my eyes end up burning for a couple days from the wind and dry environment. Anyone have any solutions for this? Was thinking of trying motorcycle glasses but...

    Doyle's Huntin Hoist

I would think the benefits would be strength and the lower chance of knotting. I believe that lower chance of knotting also leads to the downside of this idea, the rope is slippery so it may be harder to control pulling up your gear. I’ve never done it though so no true experience.

How long does it take you to set up?

This is my first year as well, if it is a tree I've been in before (with the saddle) it seems to take me around 15 minutes. But if I'm going in blind and have not prepped the tree I've had setups take an embarrassing amount of time. Usually I find what the shortcomings of my gear are on these...

    Doyle's Huntin Hoist

That's interesting, I never thought on that! One of the members on here is hooking me up with a huntin hoist for a great deal so I'm happy I'll be able to give it a try but had I not gotten that deal I would have loved the Macgiver approach with the dog leash!

    Doyle's Huntin Hoist

I see everyone talking about this amazing gear hoist, but I cannot find them anywhere. Does anyone know where you could pick one up at? The fact that I can't buy them used anywhere tells me they are worth it but I couldn't buy one if I wanted to it seems. Are there any close alternatives that...

    Newbie questions

I don’t use this method but have read a bit on it. Depending on the height you climb at you may want to consider a longer rope. I think some guys are carrying 50’+. If you think about it if you want to get 25’ in the air you will need extra for knots, the diameter of the tree, also your height...

    Tethrd Phantom’s Bridge Knot

I’m about to make mine, from what it looks like I will be making it exactly like yours. Quick question, do you make the continuous loop a part of the saddle by making the amsteel loop go through the bridge loops? I’m sorry if this is confusing but I’m not quite sure how to explain what my...

Not sure if it would exactly fit your needs but maybe the Cocoon Grid It Organizer would help? I used it for traveling and have loved them. Good luck!

    Tree Tether Questions

I saw G2 put a nite ize gear tie around the loop, then around the tail end of the rope to hold it in place. I just started and when testing it out it seemed to work ok. Then I lost the nite ize. Now it just seems to work ok without it.

Prusik Knot on Tether from Muddy Safety Harness

Thank you all for your replies, I am new to Saddle hunting but have been interested in this and researching for a few years now. I have the Samson Predator Rope (11.4mm) that I am using for both my linesman belt as well as my tether. I've been using a Ropeman 1 on my linesman and had...

Prusik Knot on Tether from Muddy Safety Harness

I have a prusik knot that was on my linesman's belt from a Muddy safety harness. I had planned to use this on my tether but as I am getting to putting my tether together I am noticing that the Prusik line is connected with what appears to be metal binding clips with shrink wrap tubing around...
