    Trail Cam tablet w/gps

I use my iPhone or an older iPad and haven’t waited too long. I usually only do photos but there will be a couple hundred between downloads. Sorry I don’t have a better recommendation.

Saddle Hunters! New Way to Climb!

I was hoping to see Stoney’s sketch up but must have missed it. Also, a triple crown knot works well for stirrups (for me at least)

    Diy treesteps

How did this work out? I just stumbled onto the deer me steps and was curious about them. When you made them, did you copy the top loops or use a more angular bend?

    Splicing Amsteel

@ScottF or @g2outdoors do you have the approximate length of FId for 1/4” Amsteel? Is a 8mm knitting needle to large?

    Single Rod Platform

That was what got me thinking. If it was a piece of pipe with one standoff from the tree and an OCB strap, it may handle side loading better.

    Single Rod Platform

I thought G2 May have talked about it in one of his posts but I’m probably wrong. Has anyone looked at a simple platform that is just one “stick” or rod that is strapped to the tree? A couple could be put around a tree, but a single rod would be good enough for me. I was using rope stirrups the...

    SRT with ATC Guide

Sorry for the delay guys, had a kid and dropped off the face of the earth. I’m still unclear why the ATC guide can’t be used as the ascender. I tried this exact method https://treefool.com/climb/#budgetrads and it works really well. Plus the foot loop can be set up as stirrups. The rope sizes...

    SRT with ATC Guide

Im still working through my minimalist setup but had some good luck. I first was trying to just use some Prussik loops to ascend a rope by sit standing and it was a pain in butt. Luckily, my REI dividend hit and, after seeing some of treefool's youtube videos, bought an ATC guide. That made...

    Integrated waistbelt to Sitdrag

I'm not technically. I've sort of made one though with the cobra belt and webbing. As someone mentioned very uncomfortable when it's holding all your weight but it did hold...

    Integrated waistbelt to Sitdrag

I got the cobra buckle and speedy stitched everything up. It's not pretty but it held me bouncing off my tree. I have a good 5.5" overlap that has several stitches to the cobra buckle, then I did simple boxes with one half of an X just to hold the belt to the sitdrag. I don't have a way to post...

    Diy aider with stirrups

That's exactly what I'm considering but I'm torn between the offset and the inline. I also don't know how to do the inline style. I was thinking for an offset though having a VErY long frost knot for the top step and pull the two 'step' loops out to have a place to stand at the too

What type of aider is that Ramjet? Store bought or diy? If Diy then how? Looks great

    Diy aider with stirrups

Justsomedude, do you use a big loop of webbing for the stirrups with another knot and loop in the middle? Doe you use a rope for a treestrap and Prussik for the aiders and/or saddle? Your setup looks like it could work well. I have some webbing so I can tie some offset aiders real quick to try.

    Diy aider with stirrups

Thanks everyone. I'll pick up some rubber hose tonight if I can. Does anyone have thought on tying two loops adjacent to the top rung to act as stirrups?

    Integrated waistbelt to Sitdrag

That's sort of what I'm thinking about. I'm thinking of clipping either a redundant Prussik or the end of the tether right into the belt as a backup to the bridge and loops. It wouldn't be comfortable but it should be a safe backup at least.
