Ordered a Recon, how has everyone improved upon it?

Another question (and I did search this one!)... How are you recon one stickers carrying your rapel line? I know a lot of people don't attach pouches etc... to the recon. Are you just pulling the line out of your pack and let it hang down the tree while you sit? Sent from my SM-G998U1 using...

Ordered a Recon, how has everyone improved upon it?

Well how bout that, threw this together out of stuff I had laying around and seems like a winner. Haven't tried it out in a tree but now I see what all the fuss is about. Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Tapatalk

Ordered a Recon, how has everyone improved upon it?

Thanks, after I wrote that I did a search and saw a few posts up about the Bungie belt mod, guess I should have done that first! Sent from my SM-G998U1 using Tapatalk

Ordered a Recon, how has everyone improved upon it?

Does anyone use the recon to one stick? It seems a little sketchy as it wants to fall down once you put slack in it. Anyone ever tried attaching suspenders?

Ordered a Recon, how has everyone improved upon it?

Yeah probably right. I did find some "high stretch" 1.5" webbing on Amazon. I may order that and play around with it. It that doesn't work I'll go the shock cord route you are suggesting.

Ordered a Recon, how has everyone improved upon it?

Think if I took this marsupial gear stretch belt, cut it and and ran each end through the plate with tri glides it would make a good bungee belt? https://www.marsupialgear.com/products/stretch-web-belt?variant=12699179122774

    fall arrest question

After reading through the excellent discussion on this thread, I realize the title of my post was wrong. I was really concerned if I slipped on a step or the platform would I slip through the saddle or cartwheel upside down and fall out the top. I wasn't really concerned with how the saddle...

    fall arrest question

Got one on the way. I'm satisfied its safe enough. It will be perfect for the area I hunt. Lots of twisted oaks. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

    fall arrest question

I picked this harness up a few weeks ago. The post says used bit it came new with tags. Its super low profile and replaces the belt on your pants. Apparently its military issue and suitable for rappelling from a helicopter. Seems like it would be ok under a saddle because there's no buckles or...

    fall arrest question

I see your point. Whereas in a stand we might be concerned with a platform failure leading to a dynamic fall, the saddle has constant pressure and no slack to take up. I suppose I'm mainly concerned if I was moving around the tree for a shot and my body was relatively upright and I slipped on...

    fall arrest question

and that's a fair answer. You are able to comfortably use an RC harness under the recon?

    fall arrest question

Hi first post. Looking to start saddle hunting as climbers are useless on my new hunting ground with mostly large oaks. I'm leaning towards the Treehopper Recon but I'm curious how this or any sling/saddle really performs in a fall? I have used a climbing harness in my climbers for years and...
