First impressions of the lwcg .5

Absolutely love my .5 with saddle combo. My only complaint is that I didn’t get one sooner. Super anxious to get out in the woods with it. Season is quickly approaching best of luck with the new set up!!

    Ditching trail cameras?

Exactly my thoughts I think about the times when I use to just go in the woods as kid and just hunt those were some of the best times. And than the hunting industry worked its magic and I bought into all the newest gadgets. Ive just been really thinking about it and I think its time to go back...

    Ditching trail cameras?

Don't get me wrong they have helped me in the past but I can say majority of my bucks have come from before I was using them and just using woodsmanship and scouting the cameras cause me to get in my head and over think which almost takes the fun out of it for me

    Ditching trail cameras?

Am I crazy but part of me has made up my mind that Im not going to be using cameras this year. Main reason being is to go back to just hunting and setting up in areas based on sign and previous years intel. How do you get your bow up the tree?

Ive used paracord and doyles gear hoist in the past. The gear hoist works the best for me but I've been eyeing the hip bow holder from Genisis 3D printing. Anyone use this or anything similar ? Thanks https://genesis3dprinting.com/products/hip-bow-holder

    Mid Layer Piece

My father has the catalyst jacket, pants, and vest and absolutely loves them... Granted its a big step up from what he use to wear..but he loves the stuff!! The past two seasons I've never heard him complain about getting cold. He wears the catalyst stuff down into the low 40s It is great...

    Mid Layer Piece

I cant recommend the Sitka celsius midi jacket enough...very warm and versatile not wind proof though. Perfect for under a vest or under a good jacket when temp drops. I wear it a lot with a hoodie under neath and a vest over top of it. Pricey but one of my favorite pieces of gear I've bought...

    Gloves

I use a couple different pairs thru out the season...for early season I use the fingerless gloves from first lite but when the temps drop I use the Fanatic Gloves from Sitka in conjunction with the First lite Aerowool Liner underneath the Fanatic Gloves...Also run a hand muff ...Nothing worse...

    Older guys

My father who is 65 uses screw ins for presets on private and two full length climbing sticks with a single step aider on the bottom (only two sticks because less weight for him to carry) on public land.
