    Bullman Platform Steps

I am not a “leaner” per se because I sit like 80% of the time. However I can say confidently that I can lean on the bullman platform steps, longer with less foot fatigue than I can with any other ring of step I have tried to this point in time. The angled sides definitely makes a difference in...

Favorite Hunting Clothing Brand (where you like the camo pattern)

For my area, my personal favorite is the Florida Camo Hammock pattern. It has a lot of green oaks, pines and cypress trees with a light tan back drop. And if I’m anywhere else I use the high pine camo pattern from the guys at swamp n stomp. The high pine is everything broadside could have been…...

The Effect of Dirt on Climbing Ropes

I agree 100%. I was actually just explaining that to someone in the messenger. Ropes are super subjective to preferred use and material/build properties. What works for a bridge for me doesn’t work as a tether. What works best as a tether isn’t what I prefer to climb SRT on. Ddrt requires a...

The Effect of Dirt on Climbing Ropes

I am just not personally a fan of their rope offerings. I believe there are better options out there For me personally, their 8mm rescue tech doesn’t hold knots or hitch grab as well as dual sheath Bluewater rope or as well as sterling oplux does. I didn’t like the KM3 or x static as much as I...

The Effect of Dirt on Climbing Ropes

Basically as long as you wash the rope with a safe mild or formulated detergent, and rinse it thoroughly to remove all soap residue, and then allow it to properly hang and air dry completely, away from heat and sunlight before storing it. You will not effect your ropes performance or reduce its...

The Effect of Dirt on Climbing Ropes

The Effect of Dirt on Climbing Ropes

Recommendation for a good eye to eye cord

I forgot about Wesspur… I have no personal experience with Arbsession but because of your recommendation, I’ll definitely be checking them out

Recommendation for a good eye to eye cord

I’ve bought it before but wasn’t impressed. If you do your on line research of GM climbing, it makes for some interesting reading about their “CE” ropes and cordage

Recommendation for a good eye to eye cord

Sadly it’s the nature of the beast these days. It’s hard to compete without the big guy dollars to further the business. I guess I could also add in Rock N Arbor as carriers for both 8 and 9mm hitch cord

Recommendation for a good eye to eye cord

You could use their 8mm VT on the 11.5. 2 other great options are 9mm RIT from Sterling or Teufelberger 9mm epicord. Both Sherrill and Tree Stuff sell them as eye to eye options

    Pursuit Platform Gen 2 questions

Amsteel would be pretty slick though. That poly coating on a plastic platform, wouldn’t add much in the way of traction…

Recommendation for a good eye to eye cord

    Learning from Saddle Hunting Accidents

We were not talking about climbing on hooks but climbing on sticks. Where using a squeeze isn’t an option. The climbing stick strapped to the tree is your nub

Does anyone just use the ring of step?

I am a fan of the ratchet strap also. I used the OCB for a couple years with my squirrel steps, but seeing how tight the ratchet strap keeps those bullman steps, and how easy it was to connect even in the dark, made me stick with the ratchet strap

    Learning from Saddle Hunting Accidents

Can you please tell me more about how lineman and utility workers climb? The ones I see are always sitting in a bucket  Ok seriously here, I wasn’t saying you are completely wrong, only parts of those statements… You are now talking about lineman and utility workers. A subject I...

    Learning from Saddle Hunting Accidents

I respectfully disagree with a couple of your points. A “lineman’s rope” is a safety positioning lanyard. If it’s used correctly and also kept under tension you will not fall straight to the ground. The problem is many people don’t know how to properly use a lineman’s rope, and then they choose...
