Favorite Hunting Clothing Brand (where you like the camo pattern)

Interesting and relevant comments about camo in Spypoint’s latest newsletter, though ostensibly about turkeys, applies to all game animals: Not Choosing the Right Camo This is not an ad for a specific camo pattern or to get you to drop hundreds on the hip, trendy StalkerOakTreeWoodsyFade...

Favorite Hunting Clothing Brand (where you like the camo pattern)

I have FirstLite (base/mid layers), Sitka (outerwear/insultation layers), Kuiu (rain gear) and SKRE (pants) clothing. I mix and match them without really worrying that the camp pattern may not "match". Don't think the animals I am pursuing are judging me for mixing/matching. Look....he's...

Favorite Hunting Clothing Brand (where you like the camo pattern)

Camo is designed to attract hunter dollars. If you don't move, don't smell and don't make noise, most often the game won't care what camo pattern (or not) you are wearing. LOL

    Canyon Pounder, WHY?!?!

Curious why you returned the UVS and went with the CP instead? What where the pros/cons that lead to that decision?

    Canyon Pounder, WHY?!?!

I'm tempted by the UV Slider. But man, the price! Gonna have to sell an organ on the black market for one of those. I don't need two kidney's do I? :tearsofjoy: Anyone have any experience with the Trophy Ridge Digital React 1 and 3 pin sights? Having a digital readout instead of a sight...

    5 must own guns

I would also vote for the 30-06 or .308 instead. Or maybe a 270 if your shoulder is too wimpy to handle the '06. LOL And a Marlin lever action in 45-70! My all time favourite gun is the 1895 SBL.

What will you test or tinker?

Building a dozen new arrows. Gonna try Easton Match Grade (6.5s so I can use my existing Lumenoks), slightly more spine, and up the FOC and TAW a bit by going to 125gr Iron Will single bevels in front. Should take me from low 400 grs to around 450. Will likely slowly up the draw weight a bit...

Jokes and Memes - NO POLITICS

Guy walks into the hunt camp and places a small man just about a foot tall and his piano on the card table and the tiny man begins to play. Stunned, another camp member asks, "Where on earth did you get that?" "There is a genie just outside and is granting wishes." The other hunter hurries...

Best, quietest, rain gear , that won’t break the bank?

For the most part, keeping dry in all conditions versus saving your bank account are pretty much mutually exclusive. Good rain gear ain't cheap and cheap rain gear ain't good. As the saying goes: buy once, cry once. I've stopped buying cheap gear unless it's specifically intended to be...

I'm about to spend a few bucks.

I had a similar problem....rotator cuff issues which caused me to use an XBow for many years.....figured bow technology had improved a lot in that time and wanted to go back to a compound rather than upgrade my ancient Excalibur crossbow, so I did exactly what the guys above have...
