    Help me identify this machine.

I already have two that were just end table items until I joined this wonderful forum. Now my wife has redecorated so I don't have to mess up her doilies every time I sew manly stuff. As a side note I have fifty five 6.5 creedmoor brass you can have if you reload.

    Singer 404

You got one of the "new" post world war slanted models circa 1951-ish. I think its slanted at 9 degrees away from the sewer to help you see what you sew better. I have a 301 which is pretty much the same machine but with slight differences in the bobbin style and configuration. I have only...

    HOMEMADE PLATFORM FOR PRESETS

I also like the idea of using 3-4 inch diameter schedule 40 pvc steps. Can't find where I saw the idea but if the "contour edge" steps work thick wall pvc will work. Putting them on a tree might sound like a bamboo wind chime if you make a ring of steps.

    HOMEMADE PLATFORM FOR PRESETS

I will definitely be grabbing a couple from the local harbor freight and strapping them to a tree. If they aren't quite strong enough they might make good aluminum casting forms.

DIY Treesuit user. Tree Climbing method

Sorry to post a question on an almost three year old post but I was rereading this thread for the dozenth time and I just caught your reference to the "climber" base. So the original tree suit platform was also a small climber? Like how people use the lone wolf climbers?

    Singer 6600C.

What about one that is so old it is foot powered? My grandmother sewed on that till the day she died....two years ago. It's just sitting at her house gathering dust.
