    Question

I won't even buy allegedly name brand climbing gear from Amazon because of the risk of it being counterfeit. I buy all kinds of other stuff from Amazon, but life support gear is a hard line in the sand for me. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Miniature deer

I've been reading about this for the past few days. It's probably the craziest story I've heard in a long time. I wish there were more photos of the sheep since I'm super curious what all the crossbred ones look like. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Bald/shaved head care

I did that too. I can't remember the last time I was clean shaven and I've let the beard get really long a few times. I've got some weird waves in my beard though and it gets really wide when it reaches a certain medium length. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Bald/shaved head care

I wet shave my head once a week. I use dollar shave club razors and their shave butter. Works pretty well and isn't too expensive. If I let it go too much longer than a week, I need to knock the hair down with some clippers before wet shaving. I've never had issues with ingrown hairs, but I...

    2024 Off-Season Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

I've always worked out and been active in my adult life. However, I've recently shifted my perspective on the "why". In my forties, I now think of exercise and eating better as primarily preserving my future independence. Maintaining muscle mass, bone density, cardiovascular endurance, and...

How did you cook venison today?

Is there enough meat on a deer head to be worth roasting? I know people do that with beef, but obviously deer are much smaller and leaner. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Bobcat takes down deer!

Surprisingly, if you made me pick an animal to be killed by, I would choose some type of cat. They suffocate their prey as you can see in this video. That's a lot cleaner than how it goes with lots of other predators. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Fettuccini Alfredo

So I was inspired by this thread and the cold weather to break out the pasta machine and make soup. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Fettuccini Alfredo

Actually, I just checked and I was mistaken. Mine is a Marcato as well. The model is Atlas 150. My apologies. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Fettuccini Alfredo

Atlas is the brand I have. I like it, but it is hand cranked. I'm sure it would be easier than what you're doing now, but still more work than a kitchen aid attachment. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Rotini pasta dish

Looks good. What did you think of the chickpea pasta? I tried some chickpea pasta and found it a lot more filling, but the texture was a little strange. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Fettuccini Alfredo

Looks good. Homemade pasta makes a big difference. I do mine essentially the same way you describe, but I have a pasta machine. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Let's talk tiny DIY Food plots

A brush cutter followed by herbicide spray worked reasonably well in my experience. I have been in a similar situation and that was the best solution I came up with. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

What? A Job Opportunity With Drone Deer Recovery?

    Help me with processing

I would suggest quartering, putting the quarters in a large cooler with frozen jugs of water. Then take a rest for a day or 2. Drain any fluid and rotate the frozen jugs of water out with fresh ones. Pull a quarter or 2 out and work on it at your leisure. Vacuum sealer is your friend before...

How high is high enough with a saddle?

Most of the time for me during archery, not very high. Probably around 12 feet is the most frequent height. I'd like to be higher, but where I hunt is pretty thick and I'm not far off the trails I expect deer to travel. Given how up close and personal it will be of the deer arrive, I'm not...

Who’s generally content with their hunting setups?

I have everything I need. I'm sure there is stuff that could be tweaked, but I'm satisfied. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Morning hunts: climb in the dark, or wait until light?

I have a similar problem where if I set a deadline for myself to be setup by a certain time I end up rushing. My type A personality I guess. It ends up making me walk too fast, make too much noise, and/or get sweaty on my way in, all of which are bad of course. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    First attempt at knapping

Are you planning to hunt with stone tipped arrows at some point? I was just curious. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    First attempt at knapping

Knapping is extremely difficult. Way harder than you'd think if you've never tried it. Those points look better than anything I ever managed. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
