    .350 legend ballistics question

I bought a Savage axis 350 legend bolt action rifle that has a weaver 3x9x40 scope on it. I got it for 349.00 at Rural king this January. I have not shot it yet but from all I have seen it is a good round and the ammo is much more available and cheaper than the 12ga sabot slugs.

    New from Kentucky

Welcome I am from Southern Indiana 20 miles North of Tell City. Yes, a saddle is defiantly something else to add to you arsenal of deer hunting. Oh' and I am almost 51 and really like the saddle.

Easy to make trail markers that work great.

Some guys just don't need to be walking in the woods let alone hunting if they don't know where they are going. I don't know why but it irks me to no end when I see flagging tape all over public land. Geesh, you can follow it right to where they hunted. I always tear it down and carry it out...

    Warren and Sweat stand

I have one of the old Loc on aluminum stands. I hated the seat on it so I changed it out with an old gorilla stand seat.

Rappel Rope As Tether Or Separate Tether

I too 1 stick using my rappel rope as my tether and use a madrock. I love this setup. I just keep the end of the rope in my pouch until I want to rappel down. No need to have another tether.

Hawk Rival Micro $135 on Midway USA

Just don't use it in California and you will be okay. LOL. Everything seems to cause cancer anymore. I thought about actually getting one and was just kidding about the warning label.

Hawk Rival Micro $135 on Midway USA

    Who uses suspenders??

I just use one of the flat 1" long bungee cords with hooks on them and attach one to a molle loop on the back left side of my saddle and then the other end to a right front molle loop and then put it over my shoulder. When I get to hunting height I can take it off my shoulder.

What will you change/improve for next year?

30 hours to fill the freezer, heck it took me 150hrs to kill 3 deer.

    H2 Triad Bridge

I have an H2 saddle with a triad bridge. I like the idea of the triad bridge but it is a PITA to undo when you put weight on the knots. The bridge itself and the knots that tie to the lineman's loops get so tight it is almost impossible to loosen up. Any ideas on how to get them to loosen...

    Peeing from a saddle

I have a good friend who's wife was a chemist at Exxon Mobil that worked with a fellow chemist that was a serious bow hunter. He did an analysis of his and deer urine. The deer urine came from a small captive herd in PA. Ultimately he discovered the both species urine basically turned into...

    Plumbers Butt

Then down the road there will be jet packs in the back pack and it will eliminate the need for sticks or rappel ropes. :tonguewink:

What are you using for a knee pad?

I use a sys type strap to hang my pack and bow off of. On this I also have a length of paracord that I doubled up and tied a knot about every 3 inches the length of it. I then cut a cheap foam cushion in half and hang this cushion off the cord with a small carabiner to where my knees will be...

    Plumbers Butt

I just use a 36" flat bungee strap with the plastic hooks. Hook one hook on the lineman's loop and the other on a molle loop and your good to go. Cheap and effective.

    Hawk Crawler game cart

I seen that price and saw the free shipping so I put it in my cart and started to check out and then it said "Free shipping not available on this item " Cause it is deemed oversized. I thought SMH. 70 bucks shipping, they can keep it.

    Hawk Crawler game cart

Midway wants 70 bucks for shipping though. I have one of the 2 wheel carts carts that I think I will try and modify with the wheels like the crawler. I can get the wheels pretty cheap at harbor freight and I have some metal tubing I can use to connect the axle and wheels. I don't think Hawks...

    Hawk Crawler game cart

I have been thinking about purchasing a Hawk crawler game cart as they have a lot of good reviews and I hunt a lot of public land. Does anyone have one of these and do you like it or dislike it. Also where can I get one pretty cheap. I saw them on Ebay and Amazon for around 159.99 free...
