    Pack for a LWCG .5?

Warm weather, really any cheap small pack/book bag will do. When it gets cold, I use a Fanatic pack I got really cheap. Fleece packs are nice, and I'm surprised there aren't very many available anymore.

I have an old Cabelas wind proof fleece pant that has a bow loop you can pull out of the cargo pocket. Bought it in early 90's.

    Boots you liked/disliked 2023

Love Crispi Thor GTX uninsulated as well, as I cannot wear insulated boots if I'm walking far. I have relatively wide feet and thw wide in this boot is perfect. I've had the same pair since fall of 2020 and I will probably need a new pair in the upcoming year. I hunt a lot of big woods/mountains...

    LWCG stand setups

I use an old backpack that is the size students carry books in until it gets around freezing or lower, then I use a Fanatic pack I got cheap. Fanatic holds Status bibs, second layer and heavy layer, plus snacks, water, coffee, etc. I pull either up with my bow/rifle and then they both sit...

    .5 and small trees

I always use 2 straps as it takes only a few more seconds and I use it as a hybrid. Rock solid anytime I've used it.

How are you .5 hybrids hanging your bow?

I use either a hero clip on a home made piece of oara chord with prusick loops attached or a small screw in Cranford bow holder.

    Mountainsmith Lumbar Pack

I use a small fanny pack worn with the large part in the front walking in and take it off once up the tree. I have my rope, release, gloves, flashlight, headcover, knife, milkweed, release, bow holders, small saw and snips in it. Will add 2 small side pockets for tether and lineman if I use a 2...

    Tethrd One Sticks Gen 2

I have a .5 and went back and forth in my mind for a year trying to decide between these and the LWCG minis. I went with the minis because of compactness and supposed issues with the Tethyrd sticks. Minis seem good so far in prepping about 5 trees but I hope they get these sticks figured out.

using a back tension style release for hunting

I use a Carter wrist release and shoot it with back tension as Dudley teaches. I didn't see it mentioned here, but a shot trainer made out of Paracord is super helpful. I also read that many like a heavy trigger tension, but that does not work well for me. The key is to focus the most on you...
