    Top 5 best/worst gear purchases

Worst: To make it on this list, I thought about the things I've owned, that if I was given for free, I'd either decline, or give away without thinking twice. LaCrosse AeroHead 7mm - Uncomfortable. Constricted blood flow to my feet. Alps Outdoor Fanny Pack - I wanted to be a fanny pack guy...

    Bowstring hitting bridge

For my shots to targets in front of the tree (12 o'clock), I push back from the tree a little bit and and then turn so my hips are as close to perpindicular to the target as I need. I use my left foot to push off the stand and my right heel to hook the far end of the stand for a push-pull effect...

I know I need other gear to complete my setup for the season...but am not sure what....? Please help!

Cheap carabiners for gear hanging purposes only. I use them to attach my predator stand as I climb and as a quick disconnect for my haul line. Also use them for calls and to attach my bag to the gear strap. Some wire ties may be helpful too depending on your preferences and needs. I'd also...

    Carry method for climbing sticks.

What he said. If you can find a pack with side compression straps WITH buckles already (e.g., SOP G2 Day Pay, Horn Hunter G2, MR Pop Up series) that's less work on your end. Clip in the sticks on each side. Attach a loop of Amsteel or 550 at your hip belt on each side to help support the weight...

    CAYG Aiders

I have one 42" loop of tubular webbing that I use as a CAYG aider for my unmodified Helium sticks. At this loop length, the step length for the loop is exactly like it is between each of the regular steps for me.

12 Primal V Steps SOLD PLEASE CLOSE

12 total steps. 8 are used one season. 4 are brand new and have never been on a tree. I put the Wild Edge ropes on them and they are in a 12-step Wild Edge bag that I added a buckle to the front of to help keep it together as you climb. I no longer have the original ropes since I had cut them...

    Tripod stool?

Cheap tripod chairs are the worst. I have one of those cheap $10 ones from Cabela's and I'd rather just sit on the ground. Once they've had a few hours of sit time, they start to sink in and then everything just starts getting pinched. They're great for my 6 year old when we go fishing though.

To the people who have tried both: Sticks vs WE..

I bought 8 Primal steps last year and put on the WE rope and WE bag. Obviously for size, it's hard to beat the steps unless you're using spurs or spikes. However, the reason I won't be using them again this year is for me, there was too much messing around with the ropes. If I didn't get it...

    Setting predator platform

If you don't cam the platform down until you're above it, you shouldn't have to let your your line in order to get above it--or at least not very much. I don't like to cam over the platform until I'm on my last step, have set up my and tied into my tree tether and have stepped down on the...

    WTB sit and drag

The sewing looks difficult but it really isn't. Just order yourself a quick stitcher and the sit drag from Amazon. When you order the sit drag, it comes with a bunch of additional straps to use as a tether and for dragging deer. I repurposed all of those straps in a Knaider, Swaider, and molle...
