    Hickory Creek Koolaid

I am interested in using the same red dot sight. Are you using a 2” riser mount like used for an AR to raise the sight? Would it be too low to see through without the riser mount?

    Top stick platform combo

My buddy added some aluminum to this summit buckstep for me. I have been using it while trying out my Crüzr XC and very pleased with both. I will be adding a rope cleat soon to make better for one sticking and a paint job. Handles side pressure very well.

    Stacked Outdoor sticks

I used them this last season. Stack very tight, a little heavy. I used them on a special draw hunt where you only get 4 hours to scout and setup your hunting spot for the next day. I carried them about 4 miles looking for that special location and ended up putting the sticks in a tree that was a...

    First SRT climbs

I used a Kong Futura this last season. I tied my foot loop in the one hole and then put a caribeener through the same hole to use for the mechanical advantage. I use a 6mm rope for my foot loop which leaves enough room for the caribeener. Worked great and this hand ascender is very compact and...

Any reviews of this saddle. The Cruzr saddle

Since there is only a 2” difference in circumference, I think the size difference is fairly subtle between 2 sizes. I did tell him I was a 36” to 38” waist, so that might be why he suggested the size 3. I was 230# this time last year with a 38“ waist so I want to make sure I don’t grow out of my...

Any reviews of this saddle. The Cruzr saddle

I got my Cruzr XC size 3 yesterday and climbed a tree and sat for over an hour. I set 90% of the time when hunting. I have a XL Mantis that I have used for 2 seasons. I could not set in it for more than 45 minutes without experiencing severe hip pinch which made me move a lot trying to...

    Summit Bucksteps

I have a friend who welds aluminum and had him weld this up using 1” square tubing with 1/16” walls. Haven’t had time to try yet. I have a Harken cam cleat to put on the stick. It is 12” across the front. Hope to use one sticking and for platform.

    SRT base anchor

I tie off at the base of the tree 90 percent of the time. I have a quicklink tied with a poachers knot. I put the rope around the tree, unscrew the link and put it on the rope. Just like your tether except upside down. Never had an issue with it slipping once loaded. You can make two wraps...

    H2 vs tethrd?

How big of a loop did you use for the bridge and the continuous loop?

    H2 vs tethrd?

12” loop from 48” long 3/16. 4:1 ratio. So 60” would yield a 15” loop? I guess I will find out. Thanks again for sharing your project. I hope it makes my Mantis more comfortable.

    H2 vs tethrd?

I was planning on using 60” of 3/16 for the continuous loop. If I do a full bury, what size loop can I get?

    H2 vs tethrd?

@SnakeEater, How big of a loop in the bridge to tie a prussic? How big does the continuous loop need to be? I should be receiving my Amsteel tomorrow and could learn from your experience. I assume you used 1/4” for the bridge and 3/16” for the continuous loop.

    Traditional Shooting Form

One of my biggest issues is torquing the string. It causes the string to nick my nose and slapping my bow arm. I shoot only 3 arrows per round and I will shoot a bare shaft every 3 rounds or so to check my form and release. If all is good, my bare shaft will hit where my fletched shafts hit out...

    H2 vs tethrd?

@shamus275 Not trying to be personal, but what size waist do you have and do you have a flat butt or not? Trying to see if we are similar body sizes.

    Rappelling 101

I think I would be just as concerned with how the prusik deals with friction while rappelling. I would hate to melt through the cord while sliding down the rope, no matter how much weight it is holding. Use cordage designed for the intended purpose. I cannot melt the ends of the sterling cordage...

    Navigation Apps

I have used iHike GPS app for 4 years now. Cheap app that allows you to easily download topo maps anywhere in the US. I use hunting my home state and the mountains of Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. I can set way points using the topo map or set way points based on current location. You can use...
