I love that 580-600gr area seems to be just about perfect.

    Virginia group chat/possible meet up?

This is great, I'm apart of the Capital Chapter BHA regional reps and would love to organize this around our Muster in the Mountains this July 22-24. I'm in the Blacksburg region as well so feel free to shoot me a messege.

Who has snorted the Fairy Dust?

I have been shooting black eagle renegade 250s with 150gr cutthroat and 100gr ss ethics inserts. 30in draw and 72lbs through a vertix. Getting around 260fps with 640gr TAW. Have shot several deer with them and none went past 40yds before falling over, is kinda weird if they aren't alert it seems...

    Vpa single bevel sharpening.

Get the diamond plates and the stay sharp guide. You need to accept that it is going to take some time to get a burr at each grit, my cutthroats took about 30min a head from 400 to buffing. Once the edge is flat and developed they are much easier to touch up.

    VA public land?

We have shot a few deer out of Amelia this year, recent pressure has been crazy. Advice to hunt spots far from parking is highly recxomended right now. I would still recommend National Forest, but gun season is out for much of the state now. Good luck!

    VA public land?

Agree with what has been stated already, go west and hunt national forest. Make a trip out of it and hike into a spot. Have had several good hunts on NF from Norton all the way past Harriaonburg, so don't be hesitant to hunt large tracts. Look for habitat diversity and you should see something...

    Buckthorn Management on Public

Highly doubt that the Forest Service did that, check with your state game/land management agency. Used to work for the Forest Service and that is not a project they would likely take on.

    Deer Heart Delight

Happy to see folks eating hearts. Honestly hard to beat when prepared correctly. I like to sear to med rare and make little appetizers. Homemade bread with cilantro, garlic, olive oil, and a squeeze of lime. Never had anyone turn it down.

    Bad Penetration.....Again

I shoot the hypodermics and have never had any issues with them not penetrating, however I shoot a long draw with a heavy arrow. What are the specs on your arrows and bow? I would also consider getting different inserts, having the insert exposed rather than having the force of impact focused...

1st Climb with HH Sticks & New H2 Saddle

Test your tether while keeping your linemans belt on. You can load your tether to take any slack up before unclipping the lineman rope. Just one of those things I do just in case. You will feel not comfortable after a couple dozen practice climbs, you really cant do jt enough
