    Asbell wool isn't very expensive, it's awesome stuff. I think the pourous effects of wool adds 'depth' to it's camouflage value making it blend far better than printed camo.

    I've hunted off the ground with a mesh leafy jacket, I add lots of extra leaves to my head net to destroy the outline. Ive gotten several kills doing so including an elk. Sometimes to can't hunt the food source or the water but trails leading to them.

    I think a .22 is superior to the shotgun. It also makes one hunt a little better. Not to mention if one is hunting and cuts cat/fox sign, you can plop down and make a calling set up. I shoot squirrels with sub Sonic hollow points (I like to hear the "whop") but shoot bigger critters with yellow...

    I don't know if snaring coyotes is legal in Illinois....it's inexpensive, not very difficult, rewarding.

    I hunt lots of broken terrain with so many wind swirls, the idea of a steady wind is laughable. ....any idea why I can't create a thread?

    If you're a big guy, tree steps are difficult on your feet. Predator platform is comfortable.

    If you want a better deer season next year- post season scout. I trap coyotes after season, tis a good way to prevent fawn predation AND an excellent way to get landowner permission to bowhunt.

    I hunt N Ga mostly, season opens in early September with high temperatures and high humidity. Scent Lok does well for me, also I take Now brand Chlorella- it works.

    The saddle will make you a better killer, packability, stealth, being able to hunt areas no climber can, etc. The areas of N Alabama I hunt occasionally is difficult walking, ledge rocks with lots of love cedars.

    I've used the primos bow sling for years, it good for protecting your bow, it's also frees your hands.
