What kind of hitch can I make?

    Prussik for sticks

Yes you are right Mengle. I just searched and understand that amsteel is not used for the purpose and will collapse which I did see some compression of it from the prussik. I will not do any more testing on that. I'm trying to decide on 1/4 amsteep mod or 7/64 daisy chain on some beast sticks...

    Prussik for sticks

I found it to be tight right away and more the fiddle factor of getting it loose. I think for one set and go would be do able. Climbing one stick I think you would get frustrated trying to get the prussik loose for each change of the stick.

    Prussik for sticks

The key is you can snug it right up tight like the cam buckle so you don't have any slack.

    Prussik for sticks

Like minded. I tried exactly what you are saying last night in the yard. I used 1/4 amsteel for the main rope and 7/64 amsteel to make the prussik with 4 wraps on it. It work well. Getting the stick off was the challenge. I pushed up on the stick and very easily was able to unhitch the loop...

    8mm Oplux questions & uses

If you wanted to make a Oplux lineman belt and a tether how long would the pieces be if you were to tie knots like the ones on this tread?

    8mm Oplux questions & uses

Is the old LW tether a 8mm line and what type of weight can it handle. I was thinking of using that with a Beal Jammy or switch to Oplux because it is a better rope to use. Would appreciate your thoughts.

    Beast sticks vs all others?

How did you make out cutting your LW down and putting on double steps? Trying to figure out the cost to do that vs selling LW sticks and buying beast when they come out again. Thanks

    Packing LW sticks and mods

I started messing with my LW sticks on different ways to pack them tighter like in this pic. Side by side stack is better. One other thing came to mind. What if you used left over single step as a second step just offset a little bit. Would that be an issue or would it allow you to flip step...

Telescoping tubing need some ideas on the stick

So you like the DIY doublesteps better than the Helium if you had to pick? I have regular 3 step LW and trying to decide if I want to cut them, buy some helium and cut them or make some double step DIY or buy some beasts if they ever become available. Any thoughts
