    Hunting Beast Climbing Stick - Sale!

    1.9 lb without holes, and 1.7 lb with. I'd personally go with different sticks - the Tethrd One Stick is less than 1 lb per stick

    May the Fourth be with you...

    Both ScentLok and Blocker Outdoors (Scent Blocker) are having sales in honor of Star Wars Days. A bunch of products are $5.04 - including some clothing in (very) limited sizing. A lot of socks, and the carbon adsorber packs are also included in the sale...

    Stealth Strips Sale

    I bought the rolls, but my brother bought the precut (we both have hawk regulars). Honestly, I can't tell much of a difference, if any.

    Crossing Creek with Vertical Embankment

    You should be able to buy a slackline that can cover that distance. Has a much better purchase to stand on than cable or rope. If you are going to clip in with your tether, be sure to run a line above your head. If you fall, whatever you use may stretch and leave you dangling below the foot line...

    Cost savings

    You make a great point. You could easily shave money (and weight) going with one stick. The Shikar is pricey ($100) but stupid light, and with the treehopper steps you would still come in less than $350.

    Cost savings

    I will certainly echo that a great way to get exposed is the WI Meetup in June. While I can afford more, my wife would rather I be frugal with what I purchase. Last year was my first year and to try it out, I used a sitdrag with a climbing harness (I already had a harness). I did not like the...

    Wisconsin SaddleHunter Meetup - Rescheduled for August 22nd

    Sounds good! I looked at the Board Roster while I don't know anyone on the Board, I did go to high school with one of the people who coordinate the biathlon. I would be happy to help organize food or activities.

    Wisconsin SaddleHunter Meetup - Rescheduled for August 22nd

    Just noticed this thread and thanks for putting this together. I am very interested in going! This was my first year hunting out of a saddle (sit-drag diy) and I absolutely loved it. Took a nice 12 pointer on public land during gun season! A little bit of a learning curve, and I am sure I would...

    public land cameras

    I echo buy cheap. I've had some stolen before, even locked with a cable. And yes, as long as you hang them high, you are likely safe. I just got a few camera's from WalMart for $15/piece today. Wildgame Innovation Cloak 14MP. It may depend on where you live, but you can usually find trail cams...

    WI bear season starts in two weeks. I imagine the woods are a bit too thick to spot and stalk here. I would love to know if anyone has good tips for hunting bear without bear for us flatlanders.
