    Rappelling

To my knowledge the TETHRD rope is 11m samson predator. The diameter of your prussik rope needs to be a smaller diameter than the rope it is attached to. For a Sterling 9mm HTP rappel rope, tether, etc.. you should use a Beal Jammy, Sterling TRC 6mm or similar as your prussik.

    Quivers that Don’t Stink?

Tight spot here too. I spent a week brush busting for elk this year and zero arrows came loose.

    Ditch my linesmen

haha, now the takeaway is going to be an alpine butterfly or F8 on a bite above the ascender with a dyneema sling to tie in directly so that if the ascender cuts the rope then you are still on the rope. "You can pry my ropeman from my cold dead fingers" lol.

Oplux and Beal jammy (NO KONG DUCK) question

I use a sit drag / RCH combo. I keep a double overhand stopper knot at the end of my tether and the jammy Prussik is attached to the bridge on my sitdrag. Once I get my tether set I also tie an alpine butterfly knot below the prusik and connect that directly to my belay loop on the RCH as both a...

    Rappelling after hunt

Somewhat related, I figured out today that my Black Diamond ATC Guide doesn't work that great with 8mm Oplux. I really had to lock it off with my hand to stay still. However if I was wanting a slow auto rappel then it works great. It's all about perspective, haha. I will play with it more this...

    Mad Rock LifeGuard $40

Did you contact MadRock to see if they only stand behind products purchased through authorized retailers? if so, I would be interested to know what you hear back. It would also be interested to know if Madrock knows if that website is legit. Tangentially, I would assume that all warranties from...

    Mad Rock LifeGuard $40

Yea, I definitely don't disagree hence my original disclaimer. However what also wasn't clear to me is where Madrock has these devices made. I didn't see a "made in the USA" on the website or by looking at pictures of the belay device. They might be just cutting out the middle man, but don't...

    Mad Rock LifeGuard $40

I stumbled across this tonight and figured it might be of interest to some of you. I have never ordered from the website before and it looks like it is a China based business if that matters to anyone. https://www.treesoo.com/lifeguard-mad-rock

    Best stick for 1-sticking

I haven't tried a bunch of different brands of sticks but I have one muddy pro stick with lightweight hardware from DanO. I am a fan of the cam cleat so far. 1 stick comes in at 2.6lbs with rope and single step aider.

    One sticking without cam cleat

Helium sticks don’t have a cam cleat do they? I feel like I have seen multiple videos of people one sticking with those. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oplux and Beal jammy (NO KONG DUCK) question

It seems obvious that Sterling would recommend another sterling product to be the optimal prussik cord for the Oplux but it is also hard for me to believe that Oplux is so special that you shouldn't use Beal Jammy. Just remember...my claims are based on zero data. :)

    WTB Sit Drag

https://doublesteps.com/product/sitdrag/ not sure if you were needing all of the extras or wanting to add only what you want but DanO has it for $25 for just the bare sit drag.

    Beal Jammy coming apart?

At a plump 160# that definitely doesn't look like something that should happen. I just placed an order for Oplux and Jammys yesterday from DanO so I am following for sure.
