Anyone using an Aider on their platform to get a couple of extra feet?

I could see that being a problem that the xwing solves for sure.

Anyone using an Aider on their platform to get a couple of extra feet?

Just curious. I don't have a platform yet, been using a scout on top of a Helium so far but just bought a platform and I am curious if anyone has tried this or has any examples or input on the idea.

No metal, double, adjustable bridge design

You are a rope wizard. I always enjoy your videos and ideas.

    Friction Hitches

Aha. Looks like the grip hitch will be the easiest.

    Friction Hitches

Anyone know a friction hitch that can be on a loop to the same rope? What I mean is I have an old sit drag that I want to use as a back band. I want to attach it to my bridge carabiner but keep it adjustable. I plan to girth hitch one side to the sit drag, and then through the bridge...

    One sticking without Madrock

Tried this. The only thing I dislike is the account clanks on the carabiner every time you take up slack. I guess some felt would stop it, but not sure how long it would last.

    Rappel Rope, Friction Hitches, Tender

I am really leaning towards just a munter and the JRBAH. The set up I am messing with right now is long bridge with JBRAH or distel on a beaner, backed up by a short bridge with a munter on a beaner backed up by a half hitch. All on the same 35' poison ivy rope. I am going this route because 1...

    Friction Hitches

Thanks for the confirmation. I wonder if anyone has compiled a list of the friction hitches that can be released under load. Self tending is nice, but I am not against using a tender. I have a rope man and realy like the ease of use, but I would like to be able to release it under load as well...

    Friction Hitches

Does anyone have a picture or diagram of the Bowie? I tried the jbrah this morning before work and very much liked it. Tried the metal free Sticht and it seemed good at first. Then slipped bad and didn't bite after messing around for a few minutes. I can now get it to not bite consistently...

    Safeguard with 11.7 mm rope

Appreciate that. Yea, it looks like I will be skipping the safeguard unless I get a smaller rope.

    Safeguard with 11.7 mm rope

Has anyone tried it? It appears it is rated up to 11mm. Any problems using 11.7mm?

    Hawk Helium 20

Got mine from Midway today. No rattle bits, one is a little bit canted but no biggie. Everything fit up and went together pretty well.

    Hawk Helium 20

I would not accept that from Midway. I would contest the charge. What they sent you sounds like a safety issue to me. That's messed up. Mine come in tomorrow. Hope I dont have those issues.

    Examples of dangerous carabiner loading

No. This thread is about a carabiner on the end of your tether wrapped around the tree with the working end of the rope going through it. The system you set up I think is fine as the carabiners are all being pulled straight of their individual orientations, though in slightly different...

    Examples of dangerous carabiner loading

Something I have learned as a novice...anytime you think of an idea and say "man this way I just thought of is so much easier I can beleive all those guys who do this all the time haven't thought of it yet!" Stop yourself and research. You may get away with it, but there may be potential for...

    Examples of dangerous carabiner loading

Oops. Just saw this thread right after I started one. What are some common options for this attachment method? Every link type I have seen gives a kn rating after tightening gate with a wrench. Lol. I doubt anyone is actually carrying a wrench up the tree with them. Are there better options out...

Help with Quick link for eye splice in girth hitch

Hey folks, First, thanks to all the members here and the awesome knowledge you all share. I am new to this style hunting and I am planning to rappel down and probably one stick/srt up mostly. I am trying to find out some different options to put on my eye splice on the load end of my rappel line...
