    Recon belt mod feedback

Sorry A.T., I was responding to what wirrex posted not realizing he was referencing what you said. It would have been helpful if I had gone back and read what wirrex was referring to. I get what you are saying better now about the plates needing tension from the tether or bungee so they don't...

    Recon belt mod feedback

Sorry A.T. if I was confusing in my replies. I responded earlier to someone saying that the bungee was needed because without one only half of the saddle is held up. I said I'm not worried about both panels because I intend to use it as a single panel (probably overlaying and permanently fixing...

    Recon belt mod feedback

I believe that it can be rigged to either of those things, but I also don't particularly like a saddle belt that gives. I like the feedback webbing gives particularly because it doesn't give. It may not be your cup of tea, but for me, I'm interested in the bungee concept. If the static webbing...

    Recon belt mod feedback

There are a few reasons, the first is while I like having a belt, I don't like the belt being too tight at any time during ascent, hunting, or descent and I prefer the belt to be quite loose during the hunt itself. Part of my preference comes from using different saddles but I always go back to...

    Recon belt mod feedback

This interesting. I guess it depends on what you like best about the recon. Personally, I like the recon, not because it's a 2 panel, but because I can double up the panels and make a narrow sling style saddle which I think allows for more freedom of movement in the tree. And if I sew a belt...

    Recon belt mod feedback

I don't have access to a sewing machine right now, but what I thought about doing until then is using the leg straps (cut and shortened) to secure both panels together. I think this may limit the sagging, and in turn, let the belt tighten things up better. But I'm a fan of smaller saddles like...

    Recon belt mod feedback

oldsouth, I have that same question. I have a recon on the way and have thought about just sewing a belt onto the inside of the top strap because I'm not a fan of the bungee idea.

    Thinking about a Phantom...

The phantom is the saddle I keep coming back to after trying the pleated style and not liking it at all. For you phantom owners, I know it is supposed to be a one-size-fits-most saddle, but how wide is the mesh section of the saddle? I want to make sure there is sufficient real estate before...

    For those 2 panel-ers

Thinking of the 4D and cutting the bridge rings off and putting in another bridge like amsteel or even tubular webbing. That would cut some weight and noise. Then again it may limit how much the bridge can move in the carabiner.. Maybe the floating D is the better option. So tempting!

    For those 2 panel-ers

What do you mean you folded the bridge?

    For those 2 panel-ers

Looks like a good leaner saddle. Anyone tried sitting in it?

    For those 2 panel-ers

This looks interesting... Almost interesting enough to pull the trigger...

    Best saddle and why?

The pleated saddle I had wouldn't stay closed once I put my weight in it. The top always opened. Could have been user error of some kind?

    Best saddle and why?

That's a great question. I can't say for certain but my best semi-educated guess is that it may. I think the fabric width does play a role, but I think its both/and. A kind of balance. making sure there is enough material but also making sure the bridge loops are past your hips.

    Best saddle and why?

Yep. When you have the saddle on, I found that if the bridge loops are in front of my hips I don't get hip pinch. Just a ball park, I have a 38" waist, and I like to have my bridge loops 36" from furthest point to furthest point. I find that gets them in front enough.

    Best saddle and why?

I know I'm on the outside here, but I don't think the Cruzr XC is comfortable. Great quality, but I didn't find it nearly as comfortable as everyone else. Saddles are very individual. Comfort depends on body type, sitter/leaner, tether height, etc. A good place to start is making sure the bridge...

    Phantom Comfort Channels?

All day hunts are not usually an option. I'm curious what the other saddles are that you guys think are more geared for all day sits? So far from what I have tried, the sit drag has been the most comfortable saddle I have used and I'm not entirely sure I will move away from it.

    Phantom Comfort Channels?

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it. To be honest, after trying a number of saddles I keep coming back to my sit drag. I like that it's narrow and can be moved in order to accommodate sitting or leaning and doesn't impede turning at the waist to shoot like saddles that have more...

    Phantom Comfort Channels?

Haven't been able to see one of these in person, but after trying a few saddles I have narrowed down what I like and what I'm looking for in a saddle. The Phantom seems to check most of the boxes, but I'm not a fan of the idea of the comfort channels. A question for you Phantom owners, is it...
