2 tether method

That is how i envision getting down if sticks fall or platform fails. Never practiced it..... I will learn on the fly if the unlikely happens. I made my tether and linesmans belt longer than needed (9ft) to use this technique in emergency

One of the things that shot down my design was the girth hitch so I start thinking about some sort of locked in cleat or ropeman system for quick release and movement around a limb. Have you ever seen anyone do something like that, anything other than a girth hitch around the tree? I know the cleat would need to be modified a bit so the rope would slip out "vertically" from the cleat, which is how you release it, so couldnt figure that one out. And ropeman you would need to not have a stopper knot all the time so you could pull through, move above limb and re cinch, unless you biner'd the back end of the ropeman on to the step side and had your stopper knot on the adjustment side....just cant let my complex dead end idea go haha. :weary:
Like this? Switch your bridge or attachment to whichever step is fixed (inner attachment point is dual prupose) while you move the other step above a limb .

Not sure on all the knots and how to get that loop/knot combo....baby steps. I'm still new here haha.

Might be a dumb question but why tie another knot in the rope to attach the biner to? Why not just clip it on the rope and let it Sinch down? That was what I was thinking of doing.

Then you have 2 adjustment points, the "cinch" of the biner on the step length and the ropeman adjustment. Not saying you couldnt. Youd have to then tie into your biner with your bridge or however youre attaching to the ropeman biner instead of the fixed rope loop. but i think i see what youre saying, that is your easily detachable girth?

You could try running both straps through your tie in point on your harness. Like having a 4 foot loop that is inline and clipped in and slides freely with each step up. It's not perfectly safe but it would stop you from hitting the ground.

What about using lifting straps for this?? Talking about the straps the use for lifting equipment with a crane. Can be bought in all lengths and sizes and are rated for much more then a humans weight!! Could install a rubber o-ring on the end you use for your foot to help keep it on your foot....
