Menards buckets or die.Lowes buckets are better than Home Depot buckets. That should ruffle some feathers, lol.
You're forgetting about the $2K in camera gear. What's the point of hunting if you don't post every moment on the Interwubz in high-definition, in the sure and certain knowledge that the rest of humanity is desperately anxious to watch twelve hours of you mumbling to yourself in $600 worth of bespoke Gucci technical clothing 25' up a tree? I mean, really...You guys are all crazy. No one wants to spend like $200 total on some rope and a ROS to be a effective, lighter, and quieter hunter. You need a $500+ stand, at least 3 different types of climbing sticks, and scentlok. Impossible to kill a deer with out it. I read it on here.
Looks about right to me, hard to go shorter than that and have long enough buries with amsteel, you may find a piece of hose over the foot loop portion a worthwhile addition, depending on how stiff your boot soles areView attachment 82730
I’ve never tried 2 tether, but rigged this up for a foot loop to give it a whirl at some point. Idk if it will work or be too long or any of that… but it was just a spare piece of Amsteel I had laying around so not much loss if it doesn’t work.

you should be able to gain some intel on what length seems to work best for you from that setup at least, with locked brummels I don't see much risk anything not holdingYeah I was thinking the same. It seems to be biting, but I'll be sure to fiddle around at near ground level to start. With other options, maybe its not even worth the risk. I think I have some tubular webbing somewhere too to mess with as well.
Looks like it should work but I don't have much experience with Amsteel. I've heard of people using Amsteel daisy chains as foot loops / short tethers to bypass limbs. Is there a consensus on the recommended device?View attachment 82730

Nice wire gate on your tether Mr. Darwin.Amsteel works great for a foot loop. I just don't use it for the main tether. You can make a sub one pound rig with Amsteel and some C-IV.
It's taken y'all long enough to point that out, lol. I don't necessarily recommend it to people, but rock climbers use them all the time in situations where they can reach the carabiner. I use screw gate carabiners for my main tether now, but I have no qualms about using a wire gate for my secondary hook up on the foot tether for crossing limbs since its main job 99% of the time is as a backpack hanger.Nice wire gate on your tether Mr. Darwin.
Why you callin @Red Beard the panic police? Here come the panic police.
