2021-22 Traditional bow kills

Looks like you had an arrow failure there. Congrats on the harvest.
Thanks! No arrow failure. Arrow made a complete pass through. It is sharpened up and is back in the quiver. The reversed arrow in the quiver is a stump shooting arrow.

That’s my fault, my tiny phone screen made it look like a splintered arrow. What broadhead did you use?

No worries. It was a 175 gr Simmons swamp shark. Shot was broadside at 19 yds. Bow is around 46# at my draw.

Well yall. I wanted to get a deer with a trad bow in my saddle this year. Got a St Joe River longbow at Xmas, and we are still in the introduction phase as the season winds down. During off season, gonna practice from the saddle, get comfortable and hunt with it next season.

Been a good season, learned alot. Hope yall had one too.

God bless.

107.6 lbs. field dressed 3pt. from 47lb. Wing Thunderbird taken at 4 P.M. today from 22 yards. Could have had the same shot at an 8 point, six point, and a bit bigger four point. I prefer a doe but with three days of season left quit being too choosy. Happy to still be out there at 73.

I think I'm about to go after some here in a minute. What state?
I think it depends on where you live. If I lived on the east coast I'd likely end up in GA. I live in Louisiana and there is a decent herd here, but Tx has a ton of pigs and their seasons are more conducive for hog hunting. Here in LA the bow season for hogs ends in 4 days and you can't legally hunt them on public land with a bow until october. Crazy, I know!

I'm in GA and the hogs are everywhere! It's crazy how fast they multiply. It's just tough chasing them through the terrain around here.

We have the same regulations here it seems like Louisiana does. You can't hunt hogs on public land with a bow until Bow season starts for deer. At that point I don't care about hunting hogs, lol. When I was on that hunting lease it was nice to be able to just go out and hunt hogs whenever I wanted. I guess that's the only thing I miss about that lease. For a nuisance animal that does millions of dollars a year's damage to crops and land the hogs sure enjoy quite a bit of protection here on our public land. But, then again, it's not like their population could grow much with 8 months of uninterrupted protection on a few million acres, now could it?
