Nice job. Good storyline. I enjoyed it. We all face that sooner or later. Way to bounce back. I agree that water is often overlooked. Would you say it was drier than normal in that region where you were hunting last season? Do you think the deer are hitting that no matter what due to rut activity or was it a good stand location (besides how the wind worked for you near it as you described) because they are just always hitting that water hole?

I especially like the long burrs and points right at the base of that buck's left side antler. Cool feature of that rack!!!

Is that a gopro mounted over your sight on your bow?

This year it was a little dryer then normal but I believe that the activity was mostly to do with the rut and chasing going on

But does must consistently water there mid day because several bucks cruised down wind of it during the 3 sits i did on the pond late morning and mid day . Which is why I repositioned and how I was set up for the buck I killed did

there are limited places to get water on that farm and most of the cattle ponds are within sight of the road this man made pond is about 1/3 mile from any roads and near a couple doe bedding areas .

Because there are 3 stands in that area( land owner and his family) I never spent much time there . I would push back to the edges of the property on that part of the farm. I dont think that part of the farm got hunted as much as normal this year and the other parts hunted more . there are well over a dozen different people that hunt the farm over the course of the different seasons I spend most of my time just avoiding the areas other people have been and keep my mouth shut about what I'm seeing until my tag is filled lol

I have a video on the gopro bow mount I made . Ill post it for ya
