2023 Trail camera thread

A few weeks ago I noticed a big bunch of apples hanging on an old tree in an overgrown area. I happen to have a cam right there and deer are absolutely hammering that spot day and night now, do some trees drop this early (northern Ohio?)

I saw a tree up here in Maine today that had about 3 dozen apples under it. We haven't had much wind lately so I know it is an early bearing apple variety. There's another one I know about on a side street right off our main st. in town that starts dropping heavily this time every year. Unfortunately neither are were I can hunt.

Interesting. It’s not lost on me that apples are a draw and know John Eberhart hunts em a lot… but to see the activity on this cam really drives the point home.

Pass? OMG! You ain't ever gonna get a chance at a buck like him again. Very unique.
I’d be hard pressed to pass that deer.

ive seen this guy on camera for the past two seasons and last year I noticed one of his main beams was doubled. I hope he shows up on camera again this year; was it a fluke or is this part of his makeup?!

That's another really cool buck. Can you guys tell I'm a sucker for unusual racks? lol.
Then you’ll appreciate this guy… last year I soaked a camera for an entire year in a spot I suspected was buck bedding. Well, I was right. This guy was there a lot and I’m hoping to see him in person this year. He’s got a pretty small body and so I’m hopeful he’s young. His rack was crazy last year - I’m eager to see if it was genetics or if he crashed through brush during velvet and messed up his tines.

He's another really neat buck. He does look young though. It would be cool if you got him this year so we could see what he looks like now. Come to think of it, your not far from me iirc. Maybe I should just hop over there to see if I can help you kill him. :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

I was just up your way; you’ve got some amazing sea bucks in your reach:
