Your increase in activity and clean(er) diet most likely did put you in a calorie deficit. You can get in a caloric deficit by either burning more or taking in less or preferably both. Body weight isn't a real accurate measurement of success in a diet when weight training and higher protein/lower processed carb intake are started at the same time. You'll add muscle and lose fat. Body composition will change but the scale may not reflect it. I've seen this especially the case in women. They come in the gym a soft, doughy out of shape 140-150 pounds. Then a year later they look like fitness models and are 140-150 lbs. But the bumpy parts are in different locations.
I just checked to be sure but yep, twig and berries.

Work has been crazy and my weekends have been full. Have a 5k race tomorrow. Not feeling confident for a PR but hoping to do well.

My training might be iffy for a bit. Although I have a 5 mile race 6/1 too
Good luck in the race(s).

I got looped into signing up for parkrun so will likely be doing a 5k tomorrow as well, although I have a sick kid at home throwing a bit of a wrench in the short term plans as well. I suppose I can call whatever time I get a PR because i haven't done any in a few decades.

I quit the gym a few months ago....it's far from a judgement free zone, lol.
My workouts now tend to be 20-30 min before I go coach lacrosse. Just dumbbells at this point. 15's and 25's are all I use at the moment. I did just purchase some resistance bands and looking at a pullup/dip rack to put in my shed that I'm going to insulate. I was repping dips at 25 per before I slacked off. Back to repping my age in push-ups...which isn't easy if you don't keep up with it (48).

Likely will be a bit of a light running week for me, started on a construction project so I'm getting my exercise that way- I have an attachment on the back of my house that's sunk a bit and is all out of level so yesterday my dad and I ripped off the floor and cleaned out the crawlspace below. Today is breaking up concrete and leveling the floor, then maybe pouring new concrete supports and putting in beams.

Last week I sort of fell off the wagon with exercise and not getting sucked into my phone but yesterday I was up at 5:30, put in the work even though I didn’t feel awesome, and got my 2 minute cold shower in and feel way better. Short on time this morning for a workout so I’m going to do it this afternoon or evening. If you see this, ask me if I did it and roast me mercilessly if I say no.

Uh, per your directions, watcha got?

@boxerboxer , very friendly call out, ya asked for it after all

I have been under the weather and lazy as a pet coon for about 10 days. I did hit the gym as scheduled today, felt pretty good! Better than usual TBH. Also honest, probably still keeping it mild, I'm not quite right yet. Bummer but I'm trying to give honest feedback

Making good progress and its definitely a good all day long workout compared to my desk job. it looks like the photos are the same, but there was a lot of jacking up and leveling and digging concrete and dirt out of the way and re-pouring concrete footers and such in between the two photos. Finishing concrete and starting on putting insulation/flooring back in tomorrow.

40 minute amrap this morning…

1/2 mile run
5 yard side shuffle w/ 2 jump squats x4
10 spider crunches
10 wipers
20 plank tucks

5 full rounds and finished the run on round 6.

I was struggling to maintain a sub 10 min mile pace toward the end.

Took yesterday off as I was pretty sore from Tuesday. Mostly just my glutes today, cue the crude jokes lol. I'll do some light cardio and body wieght stuff later. Energy and motivation are still way down, that's getting old but it's slowly getting better

Concrete is mostly done, original joists arent able to be levelled correctly so we sistered all of them at the correct level, layer of ply under, insulation then layer of ply subfloor on top. Half done with the room, doing the other half of the floor and finish fixing the exterior door tomorrow while I still have help (had to remove and reframe it a bit higher due to correcting the floor height). My dad is 68 and he's been kicking my butt/huge help getting this part of the project done. Impressive dude.

Then I just need to build doors to close in the crawlspace/storage area, rip out the rest of the drywall and replace it and the (inadequate) insulation in the walls, get outlets and lights installed and this phase of the project is done.

Next phase is taking out the wall (left of the photo next to the door) in between this space and my kitchen, should be fun since it's a load bearing wall so some temp walls and big beam header (maybe steel?) will be involved. Then I can renovate the combined spaces into a bigger/nicer kitchen. Whew. Going to take a while, but it'll be nice when it's finished.

Might be able to get away with microlams if you have the height.
