Does anyone know of any websites with either cci or federal 209 primers in stock ? Every store around me and my go to sites are all out of stock. In need of some for my muzzle loader / blackhorn powder.

@RamBam I'll head to the local gun shop here today and check to see if there is any in stock for you. If so I'll pick some up and ship them out

bought some from Midway USA two weeks ago. Criminals charged 17.99 plus hazmat fee, tax and shipping. 51.00 total for crap that ive bought for 7.99 in person at walmart.

I checked our cabelas. Completely empty. Anyone in and around Detroit area has scooped up all they can. I’ve called the local mom and pop shops across the thumb area of Michigan with no luck. The only primers I found were Winchester muzzle loader. Which do not work with blackhorn. Looking for cci 209m or federal 209a shotgun primers. Lower Michigan can be a real struggle when ammo shortages etc hit.

I'd have been SOL if not for a buddy who had a stockpile and was willing to gift me a box. I've looked for months for them to use with the muzzleloader. They don't seem to exist anymore.

That would be awesome and much appreciated mam ! I would love to use the blackhorn and not the nasty pellet mess. But anything reloading wise around me has been gone.

THey must have stopped making large rifle magnum primers. They really dont exist at stores. I am hoping anyone who is gouging them on gunbroker.com gets a sand spur in their butthole.

I can find small rifle all day. But nothing for big cal. At least they killed our muzzle loader season and said you can use modern firearms in it now. Had this muzzle loader for 3 years now and haven’t shot a deer with it yet. Maybe next year !

You can try the regular Winchester primers. They're not recommended because they may not be hot enough but it you have the Blackhorn breech plug they may work fine, although not ideal.

Yeah I tried them the other year. Went to shoot a nice doe and got a massive delayed ignition. Tried a few more rounds in the cold and same thing. I do use the Cva Blackhorn plug. They work great in the summer. Test the primers with pellets just to be sure and no issue. Just not hot enough for the blackhorn.

If anyone in MD needs 209 primers for their muzzleloader, let me know. Not sure how availability is in the stores around here.

I had that happen once on a doe. It was delayed and then I moved right as it went off. My firing pin was fouled up and it was light striking the primer. This was prior to using Blackhorn.

I was in a Basspro last week getting a knife and when I paid for it a the gun counter in noticed they had lots of 209 primers so I said give me a box. I think they were $7.99
