Just got back from five days of hunting in Southern Ohio. Deer movement was extremely slow and I hunted my butt off trying to make it happen. I spent roughly 30 hours in my modified sit drag with XOP platform and I can honestly say I am blown away with how comfortable it is and the overall weight of my system. I hunted a combination of preset sticks and a few mobile hunts using my spikes. I found that rappelling down is my preferred method even with preset sticks because it's faster and I feel safer.
The funny part, after hunting five days I decided on the last morning to hunt out of a blind just so I didn't have to hike my butt off and wouldn't ya know it, a 150" ten point catches me off guard and I couldn't get a shot off. I was thinking the whole time "if I was only in a tree I could have got him!!" Lol
I will be back at it again next weekend!!
