Turkey on the property today. I went for a short walk, just to check snow cover on a trail I plan on frost seeding. Still recovering from this upper respiratory/ flu. I stopped at one of my brush pile fences and peeked over to the wood lot. 41 turkey milling around headed my way . Then the cough. Well they all turned at once flattened their backs and with heads low walked fast away from me. The woods floor looked like it was moving . They were in real tight formation. A cool.sight, sun shining on their feathers...Turkey season will seem like a long wait now.
 
Well looks like they are hanging around, thankfully winter came back with cold and snow. This will slow down their breeding. I hope it stays cold for at least another 3 weeks. Our opener is May1.
