What is the best thing to use for attaching the aider to you to move it to the next step and so you aren't dropping it to the ground?

I use Wild Edge stepps, and have a rope that attaches the carabiner on the aider to the WE bag. The aider packs in the steppp bag. It’s all one package and I don’t have to worry about dropping it since it’s always attached.

Ok nice!

That rope doesn't ever get in the way when you're climbing up and down?
Its doesn't ever get tangled up?

Not so far. The rope is only just long enough to reach from the bag to my foot, so not alot of extra slack. Just need to manage the rope to ensure it's not in the way as you climb up the aider, but you'd need to do that if you attach the rope to your body.

If you skip ahead to about the 4:10 mark of the video below, you'll see how I climb and descend using the aider. One tip for reducing kick-outs is to step down on the aider before putting your foot against the tree. I had a lot of problems with kick-outs before learning that lesson.
