Hey all. Newbie here, trying to figure out how to add some distance to my steps. Right now I've got 3 Hawk Helium 30" steps, which only gets me to about 12'... Figure I need to get my platform to at least 18'? I was looking at this for the bottom step:

Which should get me to around 17'. Does anyone have experience using something like this? I doubt I'd be comfortable using it any higher up, but on the bottom step I feel like there's lower risk if I mess up.

I see several threads on 3 step aiders, haven't seen much on a 5 step though.

I have a few 2 step aiders and a couple 3 step aiders.
Even if I set my stick as high as I can reach there would be no reason to have more than 3 steps... (for me)

Same, I can’t set a stick high enough to use more than a 3 step aider.

Theses guys nailed it, you can only reach so high to set the stick from the ground…… if you’re set on experimenting with aider why not try a backwoods cayg aider. I like mine it’s easy to use & you can actually use it to fish down & climb down with as well….,,

Good point, didn't really think about the height I'd have to put the step at. I'm 6' 2" so I might be able to reach, would need to go out and measure though. Curious how you do the 3 step though, do you move it up with you? Or do you bring several out and use one on each step? Not sure how comfortable I'd be with a moveable aider, especially higher up... At least while this is all pretty new to me I'd like to try to limit moving parts/things I can mess up.

I one-stick so my aiders are permanently attached ...

Thanks for all the advice... May try getting several smaller aiders, or look into a different method. The three 30"sticks are bulky enough that I don't want to add any more if I can avoid it.

@Bigterp appreciate the help, yeah I'll shoot you a message, would love to see what you've tried.
