I am going to order from EWO… how many feet should I get to make a prusik from the 6mm trc?

3?4?5?

There's many better options over the prusik. I was using a schwabisch, but just discovered the Knut hitch on here and I like it better.

How many feet of cord did you use?

4 ft got me a 4 wrap prusik with poachers and stopper knots on the tag ends. However when I ordered the other week they sent me 7.5 ft instead of 4. Kinda bummed because I don't have a heat gun or shrink tube to trim it down to size.

Wrap the ends in electrical tape. It found it lasts a whole season and for me, it didn’t leave a sticky residue. I was able to easily remove it and put on a fresh wrap on this summer (not that it really needed it, I just wanted to). Works great.

Edit: If you need to cut it shorter, TIGHTLY wrap the section where you want to make the cut with electrical tape. Lay it on a hard surface, like concrete. A 2x4 can work too. Take a lighter, heat up a razor blade, and then make a quick decisive cut. The heated blade should penetrate the cord well and because it’s tightly wrapped it won’t squish, allowing for a clean cut.
