7/64 Amsteel Daisy Chain Termination?

So thanks to Carl’s video I decided to give this a try, but I am not quite clear on how to end the chain.

Based on the ending of the video I see that I need to run one of the ropes inside the other. What I’m not getting, is how far I should do that and what the finished end should look like.

Would someone be willing to link me to a video or photo that spells this out? Sorry if I am being dense.

Haven’t followed any of the amsteel daisy chain stuff, but I would make the last “link” in the chain a continuous loop by burying. The tag ends.

I am a very visual person. Do you have a link to a picture or a video that would help illustrate for me?

Tons of YouTube videos on how to make a whoopie sling. I also think G2outdoors references it in his splicing Amsteel video.

you can bury the finished end to make a loop. It was a little trial and error for me to get the right length for the bury and there is a name for what the bury is called, but i forget what it is.

Also you don't have to finish it with a loop, since you rarely are cinching the daisy chain through the last loop. Might be cleaner to finish it with backsplice or something similar.

Here's a picture of mine. Nevermind the poor workmanship, the bury holds strong:

Sorry. I mistyped whoopie sling. I have been researching whoopie slings for hammocks lately. Hopefully those help. I also searched this site but most posts were about using amsteel daisies and I couldn't find you a thread about your specific question.

So here is a picture of my current state. Should I just bury one end into the other without worrying about making a loop? Do I really need to bury a full 8 inches? Seems like a waste, and I am not pumped about 8 inches of rope hanging from the end that isn't serving a purpose.

I just buried mine about 4 inches bc I'm not using the last loop and girth hitched a tarp bungee in there without the ball to make it easier to wrap.

After reading this post this morning, I tried my hand at making a daisy chain with some 7/64 that I just received. Not hard at all. Only gonna use this for a gear hanger. Buried the ends in one another.

So I drew on your picture. Does this correctly illustrate the entry point and path of each fid into the opposing rope?

Do one brummel making a loop with your free ends by pulling the entire chain thru one of the strands once. Then bury the ends, it won't possibly come loose.
