8mm tactical line

Hi, I just purchased from Wild Edge 8mm Tactical Saddle Line for my tether. Does anyone know if this will work with a Ropeman 1 or will I have to get a Kong? Ropeman 1 says 10-13mm while the Ropeman 2 is 8-13mm but with different teeth I’ve heard will shred lines eventually. If anyone has experience with this line please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

It does fall out of safe use spec for rm1 I believe. But if one were to say use a larger diameter carabiner, it may be possible. At your own risk of course! Nobody wants to see anyone get hurt, or worse!

There are quite a few people using this same rope on the forums here. Do a search for Oplux and you can find a lot of discussion about it.
By the book, the Kong Duck is the one that is in spec. As mentioned above some have tested it with the Ropeman 1 but it is not in spec and would be at your own risk. Have you thought about trying a Prussik & Tender?

I use the Kong with DanOs oval carabiner for both tether and LB, works great wouldn’t change anything.

It’s amazing how well just adding the D loop behind the Prusik works. No different than the ropeman1 except the extra bulk of the Prusik itself.
