So I was trying the lock Brimal then bury the tail . But i couldn't get the rope down the center to bury so o continued to lock brimal over and over down the line then taped the very end . It seams very strong but wanted to know if anyone has tried and failed with this before? Thanks

I would question why you couldn't get it to bury. As to your method, you can send questions to Samson engineering and get their opinion.

I take it you do not have a fid for that size? I see in the pic you have knitting needles. I bought a needle that was as big as my amsteel rope. I pulled the end off the needle. You put the needle through center of the ropeand out the side further down the rope than the length of the bury, then push the tag end of your rope into the needle and push the whole thing through and out the side of the rope to bury.

As for strength, you are set with what you got, its just not as pretty or clean as a proper brummel lock and bury.
