One thing I forgot to mention: Be prepared to have several panic attacks at the base of your tree thinking you forgot your saddle. The Mantis is so light and wears so well, you will literally forget you have it on after about 30 seconds. During the prototyping phase I actually did this a few times at the house. I wore it around the house for about 4 hours after a test hang, not on purpose, until my 7 year old daughter asked what I was doing wearing a funny diaper. My closest call to public embarrassment though was when I actually wore it to the gas station to get lawn mower gas. Just saying, you're going to "lose" your Mantis several times before you realize you've been wearing it the whole time you were looking for it.
Sometimes I forget to put my pants on...but never that I have them on :grimacing:

The platform redesign is way more a sea change in my book. It legitimizes saddle hunting in ways never possible when guys were mostly standing on bolts and strap ons. The way that xop seat platform folded up was absurd. The klemz design is far superior.

I predict the kestrel is still going to have a lot of fans when the dust settles and that there will be many more saddle iterations to come.

Wait until you try the new platform. It blows the Klemz out of the water.

I think he is calling yours a klemz design. I could be wrong.

Call it what you will. The "cable-less mini hangon treestand". And the button folds into the platform. And it levels. It looks great. Just put the grippiest finish ever conceived on there and it is perfection.

Do we get a sneak peak of the predator?

I’m sure that will be the first video released. He was just waiting for the big reveal.

And putting it all in one place is brilliance. If you can get a true "starter package" under 400 bucks or so, and afford adequate ambulancechaser insurance, look out, tethered hunting will go mainstream. Love the term too, conveys and sells the safety advantage in a way that saddle does not.

Looks awesome.

Add me to list of never yet hunted out of my new Kestrel, but I’ll be buying the Mantis....and probably the platform even though I picked up 6 Ameristeps from the wheelbarrow guy...

Funny, I couldn’t get to Tetherd YouTube page without using your link. Typing in Tethrd Nation didn’t bring it up.
